Re: keeps getting stuck in gear
i'm not spending money on insured warranty, or having a gearbox stripped. i will sell the bike if i can't live with the problem
it's been a great bike, but very expensive to maintain

Re: keeps getting stuck in gear
ok, i will leave it a few days and take it for a ride
it seems to be worse after the bike has been running a while (ie warm gearbox), and only happens when changing down into 3rd or 2nd. this lends me to believe it's a worn gearbox, as oppose to a sticking linkage

Re: keeps getting stuck in gear
no, i have squirted GT85 maintenance spray into the linkages and cleaned them with a toothbrush, they look pretty hard to get apart as they are tucked right under the bike

Re: keeps getting stuck in gear
after doing lots of googling this seems a problem with R, RT and GS bikes of that era. some people have "solved" it by cleaning the connecting linkages, changing the clutch fluid, or getting mechanics/dealers to work on the gearbox or clutch others have learnt to live with the issue by &qu...

Re: keeps getting stuck in gear
mmm.. ok. i will try to clean the connecting rods thingies. it always used to do this very occasionally, but now its happening a lot more, and it is always in 2nd or 3rd and always when decelerating, often I end up stationary, stuck in 3rd, at a roundabout, which is obviously not ideal. i am hoping ...

keeps getting stuck in gear
2007 rt1200rt with 50,000 miles on it
it keeps getting stuck in 2nd or 3rd gear when changing down and decellerating
any idea what could cause this?
the clutch isnt slipping or anything and all fluids were changed 2,000 miles ago

has anyone re-mapped their ECU??
has anyone here re-mapped/re-flashed their ECU?
here in the UK Hilltop are quite a well known outfit that do this, there are many others. costs are about £350
i would be interested in hearing peoples results, especially with a 2007 era model RT
thanks

Re: how long do a set of tyres last???
ok, I guess 9,000 miles isn't too bad then
although at £250 for two tyres supplied and fitted...it's not cheap motoring!

Re: the newbie questions
the fuel strip on my 2007 RT has failed 2-3 times.
now i just reset the trip to zero when i fill up, and that always gives me at least 280 miles
