Re: New to RT
I live in Manchester and lane splitting is sometimes the only way to make any progress. I have city lids on my panniers which makes filtering between rows of slow traffic easier, but I have done it with the full size panniers too. You just need to be careful and willing to wait sometimes whilst a su...

Re: How to detect if I have lowered suspension?
Sound plausible your bike has had some modification then or you have a very weak spring. On the suspension travel don't forget this is measured from fully extended to fully compressed. Once you are on the bike the spring will be partially compressed

Re: How to detect if I have lowered suspension?
Hi Not sure on the 2012 but on the 16 and the 23 if you have the suspension on dynamic then the damping is very stiff so it may feel like its bottoming out The back wheel on both has been about about 1 inch or so off the ground not measured it particularly but at the moment I have a piece of 22mm bo...

Re: Wunderlich rear dirt-trap help!
Hi My previous RT (2017) the left hand pillion peg seized up and would not move it had not been used for some time ( Covid ) then when SWMBO needed a lift I struggled to get it to flip down took me at least half an hour with heat and a bar before it would move at all right hand side ( Over the exhau...

Re: Hi-Viz vests
I wear a hi-viz vest and helmet and I have hi-viz reflective tape on the bike. My view is that they are all blind idiots and if I can cause one of them to hesitate from performing the manoeuvre that will kill me, it is a big win.1 Rather than depend on the chance of someone else hesitating to benef...

Re: Dodging exhaust flap bullets!!
On my 2016 bike I had the valve replace within 12 months under warranty the valve went again about 18 months later I just ignored it. The valve both times stuck fully open so the only issue was a little extra noise at low speed, I saw no discernible difference in performance. On the 2016 model it di...

Saw something like this a few years back, was very expensive for what was being offered. Premium rate prices and apart frm the novelty clam shell opening a very basic helmet cant remember the name of the company though.

Re: Are tomtom mounts interchangeable?
Hu I have both the 450 and the 550 the mount is exactly the same I have used the same mounting for a number of years ( at least 6) and no problems I ride with a group and there is a mix of Sat navs amongst us the ones with Garmin's seem to get the most frustrated. Some are now depending on the BMW a...

Re: hex can and Innovv V3 camera
Hi No too bad all the cabling is secured behind the panelling nothing drilled all removable when (if) I change bike again. I should add make sure if installing this way you leave enough give on the cables to lift the VR Unit clear of the seat bobbins so you can remove the Micro SD card. Much neater ...

hex can and Innovv V3 camera
Hi Thought I would share how I have fixed my Hexcan and Innovv Camera on my new 1250 The hexcan is under the tail of the pillion seat. the supplied positive and negative are just about long enough to reach the battery terminal on the right hand side of the bike and used the redundant TPM connector u...

Re: Rear Brake Caliper Seal Orientation R1250RT
Hi
Did the pads wear evenly or just one? Common issue is the pad nearest the wheel ( the side without the pistons) wears more than the other side due to the calliper not sliding freely on the pins. It happens on many makes with the same issue. Regular maintenance of the slide is required.
