Re: Handle Bar Risers
Question for those who fit the Illium Works bar risers to their 2014 or newer RT. Does the new grip position maintain the original angle, or has it been changed to relieve some wrist pressure? I understand that the new Helibars do in fact lower the outboard end of the grips by a degree or so for tha...

Re: Werks Quiet Ride and Ilium Bar Risers
HAVE YOU NOTICED ANY CHANGE TO YOUR WRIST ANGLE? I am debating between the Illium Works bar risers and the just released Heli-Bars version. The Heli-Bars put the grips 2" wider and specifically mention that the grip angle has changed slightly. There is a substantial cost dif...

Re: Crash bars - to be or not to be that is the question
I have to agree with Tango on this. All except his rugged good looks, as we have never met. I had my dealer install black Krauser protection bars both front and rear. The second day of ownership I abuse the front break at a stop and couldn't hold it up. Those bars are paid for. By the way, I do not ...

Re: need a white jacket the florida sun is hot in a black one !!
As a SE Florida resident myself I can say definitively that any jacket will be hot pretty much all year. As a riding commuter and ATGATT convert, I wear a black mesh jacket with armor, with a class 2 safety vest over it. The safety yellow vest seems to help reflect some of sun's heating effect as we...

Re: Possible Front daytime LEDs for R1200RT
I recently added the Skene Design Photon Blasters (amber) to either side of the front fender of my 2016 RT. I got the version that ties into the front turn signals as they are LED as well. Now with the turn signals and the fender mounted LEDs flickering away, along with the low beam and high beam ri...

Re: Working on a active break-light for the top box
Take a look at the VOLO license plate frame. http://www.vololights.com . It won't work for the top box, but it does have the circuitry you seek. I had the dealer put one on my new 2016 RT before it ever left the shop. I commute daily, mostly 6 lane highway and I must say it keeps following...

Re: Ram mount location on 2016 r1200 RT
You do not use the RAM provided spacers. Remove the existing screws from the clamp. The clamp now acts as the spacers. I will try to get you a picture.
Sorry about any confusion brought on by my prose, this a straight forward install.

Re: Ram mount location on 2016 r1200 RT
I have fitted a ram mount to the clutch lever assembly using the reservoir mount. The Ram supplied bracket installs OVER the factory mount. Just remove the existing screws, keeping the riders side of the assembly in place acting as a spacer. The mounting screws provided with the mount fit perfectly...

When you first get the bike there are several conditional choices you need to make within the setup menu. I believe you can make the appropriate choice at that time.

Re: Riding gear
Try the Bohn Armor. Wear whatever pants you feel like. This is one serious solution to cover a multitude of "what do I wear" options. Check out the You Tube at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3TQq4xniGE . Bought the hot weather version for the wife and myself. Nice mes...

Re: Riding with luggage & pillion
We must be doing things backwards, but successfully. Wife is 5'4" with short legs. She boards first (with bike still on side stand) as if she were the rider, then just slides back onto the pillion seat. I then use the left rider peg to give a bit extra height to swing my right leg through. Once...

Re: Warranty problems
The fitting of any aftermarket electrical device not directly configured as "CAN-BUS" Compatible will throw the electrical system off, producing fault codes without fail. I had my dealer install a Rowe Electronics PDM60 power distribution module I picked up on E Bay before I took delivery....

Re: 2016 RT 1200
Just a point of information. I ordered my 2016 RT in October 2015. It arrived in December with Platinum Bronze Metallic paint (no choice unless I gave up my production line spot) and Silver drive line. Black may be a mid year change. Don't think I would prefer it over the silver. Just looks right as...

Re: Nitrogen filled tires
DGDavid, Honestly, the straight answer is no I did not hand gauge the tires just prior to the gas exchange. Checked them 2 days prior and were within 1psi of display, with the rear adjusting up 1-2psi on the daily highway commute. Aside from slower leakage rate, there does seem to be something to th...

Nitrogen filled tires
I just had the air in my Michelin PR4s replaced with Nitrogen, compliments of my local Costco store tire center. As they do not sell motorcycle tires and have no computer codes for same, they were more than happy to do it for free. I had the tires inflated to 37psi front/42 rear. When riding off, I ...
