Re: Windscreen stuck it up position
Don't have an ongoing warranty, just pay for immediate cover if anything goes wrong. Am I missing or misinterpreting something here? Surely, waiting until something goes wrong and then taking out a warranty is what might politely be called "gaming the system" but I suspect an insurance co...

"Monthly policy Means a continuous series of policies with no fixed end date unless lapsed or cancelled by you or us. If you have a monthly policy this will be shown on your confirmation letter." "You can choose either: 1. an annual policy for 12 months, or 2. alternatively, choose o...

Re: Windscreen stuck it up position
Thanks for the confirmation, I'll stick to paying a month in advance by credit card and save £15. If you do buy a 12 month Warranty up front, it can be cancelled at a later date and you get a pro rata refund, less an admin. charge of around £20. For me, the most economical way is to pay per month f...

Re: Nav V
Considering buying a Nav V, just a couple of questions. My 2015LC has not got the audio package but has speakers and blank switches. Does Nav 5 connect to these speakers, or are they just covers ,is there a speaker built into Nav V unit itself , or do I need helmet communication??? If I n...

Re: Windscreen stuck it up position
I guess David SORNs the bike and being a honest chap doesn't ride it without tax. I get that bit - I'm not for a moment suggesting he's cheating. I'm just amazed that an insurance company would write a policy on that basis because the simple reality is that a problem could easily arise du...

Re: Windscreen stuck it up position
Can't happen, it's locked away. I'm curious as to how the warranty provider knows that though. Given that they are essentially just an insurer, how do they know and check that you don'y simply use the bike all year but only "insure/warranty" it when you need to make a claim?

Re: Windscreen stuck it up position
Handlebar combination switches are covered under the BMW Motorrad Insured Warranty. If you can fulfil the T&C's of the BMW MIW, (service history etc.), a monthly policy can be purchased for circa. £34.17 p.m. with £100 excess. The policy will be effective one month from the first payment, I do ...

Re: Foot brake lever issue
Hi, I put a 'Brake pedal enlarger' on mine, Not cheap for what it is but made it feel better after coming from bikes with bigger brake pedals. www.nippynormans.com/wunderlich/r1200rt-to-09/wunderlich-brake-pedal-enlarger-r1200rt-to-2013 I was going to make the same suggestion. Of course, ...

Re: Topcase lock jammed
I have used the same top box on three of my last bikes and each time the dealer has changed the lock with it in the unlocked position. i am paying them a visit tomorrow and will ask them what's what. Same here. I sold my 28l box in the unlocked position - as my dealer recommende...

Re: Unusual Tyre wear?
My new bike came on Z8s and has now clocked almost 2000 miles. Next weekend I'm off on a trip which is likely to add 4000+ miles, so I have to hope that they get me home, still in one piece ! Previous experience, with oilhead / twin cam RTs, led me to come to love Michelin PR3s. They handled as wel...
