If you bolt an engine protector on, doesn't that just trap all the crap behind it? The purpose of an engine protector is the same as a sump guard to stop something damaging the engine. I had a 2009 RT (my first one) I had to take to the shop 5 times to install a new fuel-sensor strip...luckly, it was all under warranty.
That's one of the ailments of that model
