I plan to change my own fluids, plugs and valve clearance check- I have experience and all the tools and have rebuilt a few bikes. He tol...

Re: Accessory socket issues

I solved the issue by adding a DIN connector from powerlet just below pillion seat in the triangle plastic piece. Re: Warming Up Before Riding

Engine on, 1 minute idling while I put helmet / glasses / gloves on, then ride off. But then I wait a few miles before working the engine hard, so that the oil is properly warmed up. I do this in all my vehicles. Possibly not necessary with modern oils I guess, probably shows how old I am tho. Exac...

Re: Warming Up Before Riding

Works for me. I haven't done the warm up thing since my bikes had choke levers and kick starts - and then it was the bare minimum, just to make sure it wasn't going to die on me at the first junction. For boxers with separate gearboxes, warming up makes even less sense since everything else needs t...

Re: Tank grip pads

Installed these Snake-skin tank grip pads today.  Installation was a snap, just a peel and stick adhesive.  If it's below 80 degrees, they do suggest warming up the tank/pads with a hair dryer first.  I haven't ridden with them yet, they suggest 12 hours to let the adhesi...

Re: Shift Assist problem....

Yes.. this system is not yet perfected in first and second gears..all other gears up and down are ultra smooth especially after getting used to it.
Don't be afraid to give it a confident kick when down shifting with the throttle closed.

Re: Service Reminder

Yes, and I just called my dealer, the salesman mistakenly told me that there will be an automatic service reminder at 1000 klicks. You are all correct there is no first reminder - according to the BMW technician. I told him I already have 1370 Kms he said no worries, you can still ride it up to 1600...
