Re: Tank Ring mounted tank bag with Keyless fuel Cap
That may be just marketing. When I traded my 2005 model for the new 2015, I kept the same tank bag. I got that new ring for my keyless system, but left the same mating adapter on the bag. I didn't change it out. The old bag with the old adapter clicks write down on the new ring. I think t...

Re: Tank Ring mounted tank bag with Keyless fuel Cap
I have the SW-Motech Ion bag with the tank ring, and it doesn't interfere with my keyless ride in any way. Yes-- since posting this i contacted twisted throttle, the canadian sales centre, and they indicated that there is a special ring for the keyless system. Ring #306, i believe (its on its way a...

Hello DString50.
Depending on where you are, you can probably head to a dealer and take one out for a drive. And i completely understand the weight/balance issue as we age, so even sitting on the RT and jockeying it around with your feet will be a big eye-opener.

Re: Newbie with several questions
Judging from your photo, i would toss the dice and say that looks like a "standard" seat height. here is a link to three pictures showing the different heights side by side. http://www.motorcycle.com/manufacturer/bmw/2014-bmw-r1200rt-review-first-ride.html/attachment/2014_bmw_r1200rt_seat_...

Re: Close to get the RT
I agree on the options -- bmw really puts a ton of time into the technical gizmos, and for the overwhelming majority they are trouble free

For interest, the manual claims a maximum of 10A TOTAL for ALL SOCKETS (page 184) . So -- there we have it!

Re: heated gear to powerlet
I own a Tour-master Synergy 2 jacket liner (with sleeves and collar) . It draws 65 watts ,which is roughly 5 and a half amps alone. When i plug in my heated gloves (mated to the jacket liner/controller) that shoots up another 24 watts, or 2 amps. Since i rarely go above half power (these babies are ...

Re: IMPROVED HORN

Used two thin washers with lots of blue locktite shouldn't go anywhere Key to the install is Bmw part Made it a very simple, clean install I see. Ver...

Re: IMPROVED HORN
Actually-- i just noticed that the part number for TT is actually the Sound Bomb Mini, which does not require a relay. Furthermore-- i assume, by the look of it, the installation used the stock bracket too?

Re: IMPROVED HORN
That's great to hear. I read the review on webbikeworld and they referred to some space challenges and the need for a relay in their smaller bmw. Wondering if you could post up s pic of your mounting location. Thanks!
