My R1200rt with 35k miles seemingly needs a replacement clutch. Has anyone here done that as a DIY project? Midland Police produced a short video (YouTube) of their technicians doing a change in 12 hours. They did not remove the rear wheel and drive system as per Haynes manual. Any ideas on how the...

It gets there if a seals leaks either on the gearbox or the engine.  The only cure is a new clutch plate.  Check under the clutch housing to see if it's at all oily.  If it's totally dry it's more likely after 12 years to be just worn out. It's a big job to replace it. It...

I was wondering.  In U.K. with the recent increase in fines, points and prison time allocated to the use of phones while driving, what's the fuzz likely to make of one sitting up on the bars. Hopefully motorbikes wont text and drive.. Well i did .. but was a moped :D  :))

Hum i experienced same problem in a 2005 model , but with 45 000 on the cloock.
At some point found the rear wheel covered with oil, but not aware where it came from.
