Re: Where do you keep your cash for Tolls?
That’s okay Levisp. Yes, as you rightly say, approach the correct lane and at a modest speed. The Yorkshire based U.K. arm of SANEF tolling will regularly update you by email with your invoice as and when you’ve used the device, and you can then get a detailed breakdown of charges (at the correct ve...

Re: Which Sena model to get?
That’s okay. Unfortunately I can’t comment reliably about streaming the bike radio to the Scala. All I do know is that the Scala is great at recognising external devices via Bluetooth (iPhone and Nav 5 being case in point with my set up), and of course with other Scala intercoms. As regards the inte...

Re: Which Sena model to get?
Hi kioolt, I can recommend the Cardo Scala intercom. I use the Q3 variant which comfortably handles the criteria you’ve listed. I use a Nav 5 and use the built-in FM radio in the intercom unit (as I didn’t bother with getting the bike radio option on my RT). Admittedly, I haven’t put charging whilst...

Re: Where do you keep your cash for Tolls?
Levisp, I put my transponder gizmo in the front lower pocket of my (Urban Glow) hi-viz tabbard. I make sure it faces the correct way round (as per the instruction leaflet that comes with it) and wrap it in a small zip-lock bag or similar to make sure it stays dry. That works for me on my RT and also...

Re: Where do you keep your cash for Tolls?
Like most other discussions, everyone has their personal favourite. I used to tour through France with cash to hand and, oh what a faff (the wife was on her own bike so no pillion to take control of handling the cash) on some of the autoroute toll booths. Admittedly, the credit card sounds like a va...

Re: PR4GT Front not great
Okay, each to their own I guess. Anyway, as long as you’re assured by the particular rubber on the bike and feeling confident, that IS what matters. Good luck on your forthcoming tour.

Re: PR4GT Front not great
Glad to hear you’re a happy bunny now😉. Mind you, it would’ve be interesting to hear your opinion if you’d ridden the RT with new front and rear Michelin PR4GT tyres, as opposed to a well worn front and a new rear tyre as you previously mentioned. Anyway, as has been said previously on here, tyre ch...

Re: 2014 r1200rt lc hill start assist
I also find it a great asset when stopped on inclines, as you put both feet on the ground instead of keeping the rear brake pedal pushed down. Yes, it can feel a little awkward when you first start using this feature with getting the revs just right as you let out the clutch, but as they say, practi...

Re: Blade Rednal West Midlands no longer BMW Dealership
Sounds quite plausible. That’s more or less what became of the original Motorrad franchise in Bristol. The good news with them (Bath Road Motorcycles) is that they retained the BMW trained mechanics and the specialist tools!

Re: Extended Warranty
As it costs approx £400 per yr for the full BMW Insured Warranty here in the U.K., that sounds good value, assuming the products are the same?? Is it through a BMW main dealer or elsewhere? I personally consider the U.K. and Europe BMW Insured Warranty good value when you factor in the extensive ful...

Re: NAV VI and British National Grid.
Other than OS maps using the National Grid as their map reference tool, I’ve never heard of BNG for route planning purposes! Mind you, I’m using a Nav 5!

Re: PR4GT Front not great
Any clue as to how many miles (approx) the front tyre has on it? Maybe the previous owner on here might be able to enlighten you?? I’ve been using PR4 GTs front and rear on my 2015 RT since I had the bike from new, and find them spot on in both rain and dry weather. When worn, I have noticed a sligh...
