Re: Parts
The mileage is around 52k. I m hopeful that pads have been changed before this. Discs may be original, I’m not sure. Need put a set of very nears on to them myself to check. Last mot said they were at 4.5mm.

Re: Parts
I bought the bike just after its last MOT. Didn’t look too closely at the breakdown. It identified all 3 discs at just legal and pads also just ok to pass mot but recommended that all should be changed before the next mot. Since I got the bike in September last year not been able to put many miles o...

Re: Parts
Thanks guys. Will try the numbers you have provided. I did think about going to the motorad dealer in Edinburgh but figured they would want silly money for parts.
Will try the other numbers though
Thanks

Parts
Morning folks. So it seems I will need to replace front and rear brake pads and discs for my 2010 R1200RT. Seems a bewildering range of suppliers and parts etc to pick from. And I hate anything internet based. Does anyone know of a UK based company I can contact by phone that believes in good old cu...

Re: Foot peg lowering kit for RT
Got the foot peg lowering kit fitted to my 2010 R1200 fitted over the weekend. Quite a straightforward job. The hardest bit being to relocate the heavy spring into place. I did not use the master cylinder relocating plate or many of the other parts sent. The 2010 did not require it so lots of spares...

Foot peg lowering kit for RT
After reading a few comments on here about these and members sharing their experience on getting these from china I took the chance and ordered a set from Ali express. Cost me £37. All in. Arrived yesterday, a week earlier than delivery date. Royal Mail delivered. Looks well made and nicely finished...

Re: rider back rest for r1200 rt
That’s a really good idea too. Especially if you only ever ride solo. I sometimes take a passenger hence wanted something that gave me that option too. Plenty of time and having all the materials left over from previous projects was also motivation to make the one I did. The whole thing cost me 6 we...
Hi All
Just got my second bmw in a long career of riding mostly Honda. Fancied something different and tried the R1200RT. Quite liked it so swapped my Honda st1100 for it. It’s an older one 2010 but ok with that. Not much electronics on it which suits fine. Enjoyed riding it but then winter came so just sp...

Re: rider back rest for r1200 rt
Don't know about drawing as never did one - worked it all out in my head- I have it all disassembled at min to paint- can take lots of pics of how it all goes together and send that. Sargent seats do one for the RT- their fitting instructions sheet, a pdf, will offer a good idea of how to make one. ...

Re: rider back rest for r1200 rt
The back rest is bolted onto the front face of the passenger seat. The whole thing comes away with the back seat so as not to cause an obstruction when needing to remove the riders seat to work on battery or such. Obviously you need to make sure that the passenger seat is located and locked properly...
