Re: Corrosion

To answer your questions, Picked the bike up in May 2014, I ride all year round, except snow, always have. The bike is cleaned thoroughly once a week & during winter washed as often as I can in between. In fact as this is a new & costly machine I've probably looked after it better. This is h...

Re: Spot lights

Thanks the photos! How & what are they attached to? Are they bolted onto the engine via a bracket or onto the lower fairing? They look good and certainly improve the visibility of the bike. What's this about switches... Don't tell me the switches are of the Chinese cheap & nasty type :( The...

Corrosion

Had my 6000 mile service last week. Although done at 7100 as BMW couldn't get me in any earlier!

Anyway, seems I need a new exhaust valve due to it sticking..
& a new swingarm due to the corrosion,  see pics, also got some bubbling on the cylinder heads!

Re: Spot lights

I had BMW ones fitted when the bike was in for the shock refit. Used the BMW payoff!
They are riding lights so throw a broad beam out.. I have them on all the time, makes me a bit more conspicuous.
Not sure if the pics will upload..

Re: Continental Road Attack tyres on 2014 RT LC

Had R1200RT LC from new last May,  OE where Continental Road Attack 2, right from the start had problems with the front washing out particularly on wet/damp overbanding. Very disconcerting!  Never got used to it so changed to Michelin Road Pilot 4 after 4000 miles. First time I've ...

Re: Clothing - Base Layers

Aldi / Lidl compression socks, top & bottoms.  Used them for years.  Between half & a third of the price of makes like EDZ. Mid layers merino walking tops from camping shops or Costco.. wish we'd had this sort of thing when I first started out biking 40 years ago! Cheers Mi...
