Re: Bike Warranties

RTMan, I stand corrected on the BM new bike warranty period. My RT TC 2013 was purchased a few weeks ago from a BM dealer, it is a premium bike and comes with 2 years warranty (Same as extended warranty) with full Europe recovery. I tried to check previously the lenght of warranty of a new bike off ...

Re: Bike Warranties

BM have warranty on a new bike which lasts for 3 years and then extended or insured warranty (one and the same ) if you pay either monthly or annually there after. You can take it out on a BM even if the original warranty has finished. I have done same but you have to wait a month during which you p...

Re: R1200RT-P blood bike gear box problems

Cashbar, You are that cool you cannot tell the difference between "Point" & "Paint" perhaps everything, as you are a Quckshifter type of guy, happens so quickly, minor details like accuracy have gone by the by !  8) If you QS boys want a real mans QS buy a 650 Burgma...

Re: R1200RT-P blood bike gear box problems

RTMan, Keh ?  For me another gimmick too far, perhaps of use on a track day bike that is being rebuilt relatively frequently. Speak to Ron Haslam and expert engineers like Hodgo in Derby (Terry Becketts engine builder) and renowed supremo in the bike field : " Quickshifter basically a ...

Re: R1200RT-P blood bike gear box problems

Have the blood bikes got quick shifters ? A pet hate of mine on road bikes anyway and fail to add to the engineering longevity of any bike.

Re: Goretex gloves

I have a pair of Held 2 in 1 gloves, they are not winter gloves their freezer gloves are for that. I paid £100.00 for my 2 plus 1's by the way. HELD and REVIT turn out a range of great clothing with different price ranges all IMHO better than similar level BM stuff. BM clothing, a bit like Audi's or...

Re: Goretex gloves

I rate both Weise gloves and Held. Depends on how much wedge you want to spend. Great website Get Geared ,more gloves on there to satisfy all needs and pockets. For me waste of money buying BM clothing, unlike bikes that in the main they manufacture  they are not exclusively a bike clothing...

Re: European Meet Black Forest May 2017

From local knowledge Piddies tours are some of the best there are. Superb locations, hotels, arrangements, planning, briefing, value.  Hats off to RT man for being central to this.

Re: New Member Twin Cam RT SE 2013 2400 Miles

RT Man, Pidcocks regarding the GT 13 told me the clutch judder was a quirk of the model, Rainbow tested same and replaced it on ext warranty, perhaps enough said. I know a number of bikers round here who will not do business with this dealer (Piddy's) for similar reasons and worse. The RS had a felt...

Re: Winter storage

I lay my MC's up in winter, full tank of fuel with stabaliser, block exhaust off with a rag.Proper bike cover over same. Place carpet samples (squares) under tyres (Bike on Centre Stand) carpet protects tyre from degrading by protecting them from cold floor. I do not bother with changing oil or serv...

Re: New Member Twin Cam RT SE 2013 2400 Miles

Thanks for the welcome, having spent way more on repairing BM's than any of  my more numerous  Japanese Bikes (incidentally never been let down by one Jap bike yet) I am reluctant to spend my hard earned on a  BM unless I am sure as I can be it is fully sorted. BM&nbsp...

New Member Twin Cam RT SE 2013 2400 Miles

Hello all. The RT is a  recent addition to my fleet which includes a Kawasaki Versys 1000 and Suzuki Burgman 650. I have had a few BM's before, an RS 1200 SE flying brick and a K1300 GT SE (Just sold)  Both had their issues, the Brick by the time it had done 24000 miles had chewed ...
