Re: Bucket Clip on headlamp Bulb

I’ve just replaced my dipped headlight bulb for the second time in 8 years and noted the same difference in resistance to each side of the clip. I found I had to place the pressure right on the far end/tip of the clip to get it to catch behind the hook. I took a photograph of the back of the bulb to...

Re: Possible recall

All our RT-Ps are off to BMW for warranty work from next month. For the cardan shaft check and another recall which our workshops wouldn’t let me know about. Any bike with over 35000 miles on it will have the shaft replaced in any case.

Re: Exhaust flapper valve does not cycle at ignition ON.

My flap seized so I freed it up for it to seize again. I disconnected the cables from the flap end. On ignition ‘on’ both cables cycle/move alternately as a test. 2014 so no warning on the dash but an error listed on the GS911.

R1200RT/R1250RTP Rear suspension & pressure washing.

A note received through work in the UK where there have been a few failures of the rear suspension due to the effects of pressure washing, for your info (edit: non ESA). At the base of the rear shock absorber there is a rose joint which had seized resulting in it shearing off. It transpired that the...

Re: Metzeler Z6

I can’t remember the brand but this was a similar incident on a tyre very well legal before we set off on a 250 mile day.

EDIT: it’s a Z8 having seen your other post 😂

Re: contamination inside LCD instrument cluster

Bike’s been in the garage for a while and it’s quite chilly in there. Condensation present in the lower part of the dash with the dried up ‘drips’ visible on the upper part. The drips have been there since I got the bike in 2014 and look like nail varnish runs and have never changed. (Uploaded from ...

I’ll sort one out over the next few days when I can view the dash in daylight, I realise I said I would post one in the previous thread but forgot.

Re: Tax, Test & Insurance

Folks insure a vehicle, get tax then cancel the insurance policy, but still have a certificate. When UK cops stop a vehicle and suspect no insurance they ring MIB direct and can find out if there was an insurance policy, who or why it was cancelled, even down to how many letters the insurance compan...
