I too have a gravel drive and it can be a right pain to push the bike backwards. In the end I bought a center stand and dolly. Now I drive in and spin the bike around in the garage.

If it's like my 07 bike the CC cables are often overlooked on services. I had to change mine as the inner cables had frayed. The clutch switch is your best bet to start with
