Re: Buying a pre-owned Garmin Zumo 660 LM

Spoke to Garmin again today, have installed the Safety Camera free 30 day trial on the new (pre-owned) Zumo 660.

On my original Zumo 660 have paid £16.99 for 1 year's subscription to the Safety Cameras. Any updates within the 12 months will be free.

Re: South West & South Wales Area

I've spoken to Markus and it's looking most unlikely that he'll have a new bike by Monday 6th May. If this is the case, I will not be riding down to Abergavenny on my own. How do those others who are attending feel about me starting another thread for a meet at Ilkeston on the same day. If it's a pr...

Re: South West & South Wales Area

In the event that Markus doesn't get his new motorcycle before the beginning of May, I wouldn't ride all the way (250 miles) to Abergavenny on my own. However, I would still consider meeting up halfway (125 miles) at Ilkeston and having a circular ride out from there. Something like this might work,...

Re: Buying a pre-owned Garmin Zumo 660 LM

I picked up the new (pre-owned) Zumo 660 last night. All looks good so far with the device updated and added to my Garmin Express account. My Zumo 660 is 2011 and the newer one is 2014. The only difference I can find is that the 2014 model does not have, Settings > Proximity Points > Proximity Alert...

Re: Buying a pre-owned Garmin Zumo 660 LM

I don't do technology and my Zumo 660 has worked perfectly well for the last 13 years. I've got two motorcycles with Garmin mounts and two cars with car mounts. On the motorcycles, the navigation voice prompts are heard via a hard wired Autocom system into helmet speakers. While I have the opportuni...

Re: Buying a pre-owned Garmin Zumo 660 LM

The seller is loading Northwest Europe maps which includes the UK. He previously had Northeast Europe for a trip to Iceland. I'd rather purchase the device with the maps loaded which I want to use. He will then de-register the device and I will re-register it on Garmin Express as another device with...

Re: Buying a pre-owned Garmin Zumo 660 LM

Have spoken to Garmin, their advice is to ask the seller to de-register the device from his Garmin Express account. I then add/register the device to my Garmin Express account and it becomes mine. Hopefully, this will allow me to use the new (pre-owned) device in the same way as I use my current Zum...

Buying a pre-owned Garmin Zumo 660 LM

I've got the opportunity to buy a pre-owned Garmin Zumo 660 LM, (lifetime map updates). My understanding (Google searching) is that the map updates are licenced to the original owner and cannot be transferred, is this true. As the map updates are not that frequent, am I better off just asking the pr...

Re: South West & South Wales Area

At the moment, Markus hasn't got a motorcycle. Hopefully by 6th May, he'll have another one, probably a GS again.

Re: South West & South Wales Area

This is another route taken out of the RD book around Brecon Beacons which Markus & I might do, 90 miles in 2.5 hours.

Re: South West & South Wales Area

If there is sufficient time for Markus & I to do an additional ride to the one offered by EasyRider, I've knocked up this one out of a Readers Digest book, "The most amazing scenic journeys in Britain". 60 miles in ~2 hours.

Re: South West & South Wales Area

I assume that the routes will be circular from Abergavenny Bus Station. The time/distance needs to suit those who are riding in/out on the day. As hopefully Markus & I will be in Abergavenny all day on the 6th May, I'll come prepared with a route which he & I can do later in the day should t...

Re: South West & South Wales Area

Markus has now booked 2 nights accommodation, 09:30 should work for us both too.
