Re: Tyres again sorry

Even fully loaded+2 up at those speeds won't deform the tyre or affect the handling on a standard rated tyre as long as you have the right loading and speed rate. IRC the rear is 73w(axle weight). As long as the tyre weight ratings is kept to there should be no problems.  The only bike ive ...

Re: Helmets - too good to be true....

I've had some offs in the past. One where i flowed through the air like Iron Man after a car hit me up the read doing 50mph and walked away without a scratch but the bike was a write off. A couple where i got road rash on my forearms(30 odd years later i still have the scares). Come to think of it i...

Re: How to bleed brakes

Cheers David. Thought i would have to bleed the ABS unit itself as well. From the link, it just seems it's a normal bleed then

How to bleed brakes

My 2007 RT needs a brake fluid change. The problem i have is i don't know how to with an ABS system. My ABS, non-servo system doesn't work but is still connected and i have heard i still have to bleed this too but i haven't a clue how to do this. Any pointers?

Re: Tyres again sorry

Roadtec 01 fitted, new EBC HH pads fritted to the front calipers(£42 for 2 pairs delivered). Now the problem, I cant run the tyres in as today we have winds of 80-100 mph. Pity as the sky is bright blue and not a raindrop in sight.

Re: Helmets - too good to be tue....

Not saying they are but there are lots of  Shoei and Aria helmets copies in China but they are mostly sold on Chinese websites. Just search google and if you type in cycle gear.com, the site that comes up has a very similar logo. The prices are what you would expect to pay in a shop. The si...

Re: Metzeler Z6

Are these still London dispatch riders these days?. Thought that Emails with electronic signatures would have killed the industry. There used to be pages of jobs for riders in the MCN. In those days i was out whatever the weather chucked at me. Now if it's raining when i get up, i don't go out on th...

Re: Metzeler Z6

I remember taking a bike into a garage as i thought there was something wrong with the rear end. The bike was still under warranty, so i thought it would be covered. After dropping off the bike and looking around the showroom a man started running after me. As this was the time of the Brixton riots ...

Re: Tyres again sorry

Tyres will be with me tomorrow morning. I removed the wheels this afternoon and a good job i did. The inside brake pads were near to the metal. So ive had to order 2 packs of EBC HH pads to fit. Not bad price at £43 total delivered. Already fitted a new disc and pads to the rear. Expected to do bits...

Re: Tyres again sorry

I went for the standard version. Not the latest SE or the HWM. Found an email reply from another site where the chap asked the same as i was wondering." Metzeler recommends the normal tyres unless you are doing the majority of pillion riding". As i ride on my ownsome and don't have a top b...

Re: Tyres again sorry

Yes, David seems to be the BMW RT encyclopedia on here. He comes over as very knowledgeable chap on the subject. Anyway ive ordered a pair of Metzeler Roadtec 01. Had these on a Tiger 1050 and a Pan European when they first came out. Found them excellent in the dry and i could even drag a peg in the...
