Re: North Coast 500 (Scotland)

That looks awesome. Did Oban and Fort William last September. My wife wants to do Scotland this year with me. How many days was the trip, how many miles did you average a day?

Re: HID fitted to water cooled RT

AT LAST - somebody else who's worried about how cool their bike looks.  I thought I was the only one. Otherwise, how do you explain all the guys with blue, brown and/or gold coloured bikes? :alas: :alas: :alas: Only owned my RT for a few weeks, love the bike, great ride - but cool! Think m...

Re: HELP problem with the multimedia Navigator5

Are Autocom & Starcom now part of the same Company, Tecstar, http://www.tecstar.co.uk/ Yes, the kit itself was ok, had it originally in a Caterham 7 and used to use it on track days etc. On my Harley there wasn't anywhere to mount the unit, apart from in the bags, and then you had to run cables...

Re: HELP problem with the multimedia Navigator5

I used to have a Starcom wired system fitted to one of my old Harleys, worked well for a year, right upto the bit where the flexi cable that ran to the box, came away from my wife helmet connection and before I knew it, it was wrapped around the rear sprocket. Not fun trying to unravel it on the sid...

Re: Just Say Hey

Lifer, welcome, I am new to this board as well. I also have a Harley, 2014 CVO Road King, had from new. Been riding since 1980 as well. I have had my R1200RT LC just over a week now. Love the bike, can't see me riding the Harley much, so who knows, it might have to go  :)  Seem lik...

Re: Just Bought 2014 RT LE

Casbah.  If your bike is fully loaded you must have Pro shift.  If so forget it fo 1 to 2 and back. short shift up and a good blip down is the best.  pro shift the rest, it's seamless smooth lighting fast and quiet. Yes have pro shift, worked out its better after 2nd. Not...

Re: Just Bought 2014 RT LE

Went out today and did another 60 miles around the lanes. Brilliant, really like the bike, in fact like it more than my Harley. Can't see my Harley getting used much over the next few months. Everything working ok, just one question, I am finding the gearbox quite clunky, for clunky i mean noisy whe...

Re: Warranty problems

I fitted a set of HyperLite to one of my Harleys, they were great and fitted alongside the number plate. There are some threads on US forums where riders have fitted to LC, there is a way of doing it, without impacting the electrics. The only thing stopping me, is I need to find out the size of the ...

Re: heated gear to powerlet

I run my Garbing gloves off the socket, you can buy the correct lead for the BMW. But I did read, you should only run gloves and it won't cope with all heated gear

Re: Riding with luggage & pillion

If you think that is heavy try riding my Harley, it weighs about a 85kg more without any luggage. Took my wife out Sunday, she is only 5ft nothing, and had no issues getting on and off. She also stood on the left peg. Would defiantly do some slow riding practice, that is when the weight will catch y...

Re: Think I might have wasted a bunch of money!

I bought a new Harley CVO Road King in 2014. Expensive bike. I have only owned my 2014 BMW for a week. First trip was 200+ miles, all went well, apart from a sore bum. Hoping my BMW ownership will take me to the dealers less than the Harley has. In 2 years I have been back 3 times for recalls and 4 ...
