Re: Poor FM reception

I had the same issue on my 2015 RT LC, when the dealer investigated they found the antenna cable had been routed incorrectly (I tihnk by them when they fitted the AUX LED lights) and as a result the outer cable had been nicked and was grounding out. A good test for this is to see if the antenna make...

Innovv Dual Camera dashcam installed on R1200RT LC

Hi Everyone, I thought it might be useful to share my experience of installing the Innovv K1 dual dashcam system on my RT. There are a host of pics here - https://goo.gl/photos/gBez9tVhNKLaKqwi9 [/ The innovv system is pretty smart and gives you the ability to have fully automated recording from du...

Re: Experience with BMW's Bluetooth Communication System.

Hi - in Europe BMW sell the comms system fitted to their own helmets, which I believe are manufactured by Schuberth for BMW, I have the System 6 Evo - it's a great choice. My understanding is that BMW were unable to gain DOT approval in the US (not sure why?) and that this led them to offer a comms ...

Re: R1200RT LC Screen

With the screen up i pass a looped electrical wire from inside down through the gap, then insert a damp microfibre towel through the loop and fold it over - using the wire you can pull the towel though the gap - a good see sawing motion cleans up nicely

Re: Low beam replacement -lc

I have learnt the hard way - once dropped an LED light tail into the headlight - short of turning the bike upside down to get it out had to remove all the front end fairing/etc to remove the headlight The wire does get distorted, in my case either it splayed out and needs to be bent back in or I fla...

Re: Low beam replacement -lc

At the risk of teaching anyone to suck eggs - Sit in front of the bike - I use an upturned bucket, legs either side of the front wheel, Reach up with preferred hand and twist the cover plate to remove (clockwise as you are looking at it) Feel for the connector and removing by pulling it away from yo...

Re: Beeping noise when ignition switched on

Hope this helps - my bike whirs and "beeps" too when the ignition is switched on - I notice it most when I am in a very quiet environment, I put it down to the bike calibrating itself - the sounds are mechanical not electronic, like control surfaces being put through their range of motion....

Re: BOOSTER PLUG ???

I fitted the booster plug to my 2015 LC and I can honestly say it's like night and day at low revs, I travel into central London everyday and at low speeds, low revs it's removed the jerky response on throttle closing and made the bike a real dream to ride at slow speeds. Acceleration seems smoother...

Re: cable to connect iPhone 5 to USB/AUX jack

I've managed to fit my 6s into the right hand pocket - here's how. Purchased a Mini (BMW) usb/aux to lightning cable - it's smaller and neater than the BMW one and works perfectly. Warm the cable with a haridryer near the lightning conenctor, not too much - then gently form it into a U, bending the ...

Re: IMPROVED HORN

I can 100% recommend the Horn and mounting kit from Hornig - the mounting is easy with a custom made bracket and wiring kit. I was advised by Hornig that without the relay you might run into issues with prolong use of the horn (ie: several seconds) due to the load on the bikes wiring. The wiring kit...

Re: iPod not playing....

That's great to hear - glad it's sorted. If you select MODE form the bikes audio unit buttons when the SOURCE is ipod you then have access to further options - for example browse by Album, Artist and playlist. Use the wheel to navigate up and down, push right to go down a menu, for example from play...
