Re: Dash Lighting
On my 07 K1200GT the dash lighting goes off in the daytime. There's a small 5 mm sensor on the speedo face that detects the light. If I stick a finger over the sensor the dash lights up. Have a look if there's a similar sensor on your and stick a piece of tape on the Perspex to hide the light from ...

Thanks!Sullivj wrote: My 2012 was the same.
Removed the mirror glass (and back),dripped in some superglue and held it together. It's been fine ever since.
I super glued the corner, held it down with small clamp. It's holding well and did not damage the inner mirror surface. I was afraid it might.

Re: 2005 R1200RT storage fairing compartment remedy
I cut that clip off the lid of my 2012RT, then carefully smoothed the area with a dremel tool. Way easier to reach in there now, and less painful! Fits all my everyday items, a small rag, turnpike EZ-Pass, clear and dark sunglasses, gloves, wallet and cell phone, plus any house keys or gar...

2012 RT headlight adjustment.
Just got my 2012 RT within the past month. The large headlight adjusting knob (adjusting for 2 up) doesn’t seem to do anything to the headlight beam. How many turns are in its range? Doesn’t seem to stop in either direction.

Mirror glass lifting on one corner
I just noticed my right side mirror is slightly detached on it's upper left corner. The glass from the solid plate behind.. If I press them together, it stays put few a few seconds then 'pops' back out, only about a millimeter or so, not much. As if there is adhesive there that is no longe...

Re: Michelin Road 5 Compatibility
I recently bought an R1200RT that has new Michelin Road 5's mounted by the previous owner. I knew they are not 'recommended' but didn't consider that fact a deal breaker.
The bike seems to ride and handle fine. I never do two up touring.
I'll keep a sharp eye on them and report any strange wear, etc.

Re: Storage Compartment lid Clip, what's it for?
I was thinking of carefully sawing the darn thing off, since it really does make a great knuckle-buster. I stow my tools elsewhere and my light is too big to fit on it anyway.

Storage Compartment lid Clip, what's it for?
I just got a 2012 R1200RT. Attached to the inside of the small storage compartment lid there is a small round clip. I have no idea what this is for? it's not even indicated in the owners manual. Any ideas? It's really in the way when reaching in there. It looks like this: https://www.nedplex.fr/bout...
