Re: Werks Vs new AeroFlow
By chance, do you know the approximate prices of the Aeroflow versus the Werks shields? I am just a little North from you on Vancouver Island and I am having some difficulty finding a distributor and prices for either of these shields. Cheers! I have shipped quite a few Quiet Rides to Canada. Just ...

Re: How many RT LC owners actually have problems / issues?
I have only heard and seen one soft camshaft incident. That was on a S1000R. Never on an RT. I have heard of several. The first I heard of it was with the head of the Colorado State Police Motor department, they have had a few go out on the Police bikes. Thought it was just the ...

Re: How many RT LC owners actually have problems / issues?
By any measure the Wetheads have been reporting less problems than the previous generations. By a fairly large measure. Corrosion? I don't see that here and I know several bikes that ride in all conditions. Have yet to hear about oil leaks? Maybe the water pump seeps that are almost always no issue ...

Re: BMW tall seat vs. RDL or Laam.
The Russell Day Long is the only seat that adds springs to the seat for support. I have owned both the "standard" spring package and the "heavy" spring package as I am right on the border of what they recommend. I think the spring makes a big difference after several hours as it ...

Re: BMW tall seat vs. RDL or Laam.
In my experience factory "tall" seats are just the same seat with about an inch or so more foam. Which can be more comfortable on the butt, but mostly the added height helps with knee and hip comfort. Others can get by with stock seats, or other brands. There is only one seat that I can do...

Re: Russell DL Rear Seat Opinions Wanted -
I have owned many Russell Day-Long seats. I do ride with my wife some, and the Russell seat for a passenger can be quite an improvement over a stock seat. But, If I rode solo I would not have the rear seat modified. Typically the price posted includes recovering the rear seat to match the front, mod...

Re: Fitted Aeroflow tall screen
That is a well done video. BUT, you simply cannot compare windshields of different heights and say one is better or worse! The WERKS Quiet Ride in the video is a 24" tall version. There are 26" and 28" tall versions available that would have been the direct comparison to the two Aerof...

Re: Rain? Road? Dynamic? ... Or mix it a bit?
In dry conditions and just traveling I am usually in "Road". Wet, or slow traffic where the first and second gear operation is a bit jerky in road I use "Rain". Dynamic when hustling the bike. Yes, you can really feel the difference in response between the 3 settings. Buy you mig...

Re: Werks Vs new AeroFlow
Note that there is always a difference when comparing different heights of screens. If you don't have a WERKS the same height as the taller Aeroflow, that is not a fair comparison.

Re: New 2017 gearbox clunk free.
I whined about the neutral to first clunk for a while after I got my RT. Then I figured out "they all do that" and began paying less attention to it. I also must say that with over 20K miles the gearbox is smoother also. At any rate, I just stab it into first and go when the light changes ...

Re: RT touring screen
Especially as you sell Werks windshields. I think to say its bad is a bit of leap. For 1000's the windshield is absolutely fine. I would consider another, but its not high on the list, especially with the cost in the UK 8) I don't see where I say the Wethead RT windshield is bad? ...

Re: RT touring screen
The Wethead RT doesn't come with a bad windshield from the factory. If you are used to other bikes, bikes with lesser wind management to start with, or bikes with BAD aero qualities, you will think the RT windshield to be quite good. But don't let that improvement blind you to what CAN be improved w...

Re: Top box
Across the Pond the big current version RT top case can be bought for about $1250 US. You can have them painted at any auto body shop for under $150. I paid $60 to colour match mine. The ONLY reason I bought the newest version instead of the previous model ( about half the cost ) was that the dealer...

Re: RT touring screen
When I asked about shipping from Werks, I was quoted, the base price for US customers (which I assume includes US Shipping plus $70 for shipping. Therefore if the other company who makes the screen is selling at a lower base price (because no US Shipping included) but UK Shipping is still around $7...

Re: RT touring screen
If your in the US, then Werks is a good price, if in the UK, then US shipping is of no consequence. Its the price of the screen + shipping that matters, try both companies. True, but I was getting at the base price being higher because it included shipping to US customers. WERKS pricing will/should...
