Re: I need a location to put my Stanley garage door opener
Before removing upper front panels view and uTube videos regarding panel removal
There are a couple tabs on upper part of panel, these are easy to break and $$$$ to replace

Put a price on it, if it’s reasonable it will sell quickly
When I upgraded to the 5 I sold my 4 on the forum, didn’t ask a arm and leg for it so some lucky rider got a good deal

Re: I need a location to put my Stanley garage door opener
Is it paired to open garage like the flash to pass systems? In other words you do not need to access it. My brains or guts from my passport 7500 live under right front upper fairing, with a little creativity it will fit

Re: Yet to purchase, do I wait for the VVT model due out next year?
I traded a 1600gt for a 15RT, quite happy with the power of the current model, but another 25hp who would complain. The biggest gain for the RT over the GT is the weight savings, with the added power, my guess 1600 sales will tumble till Bmw adds power to it flagship bike My dealer isn’t saying a wo...

Re: Which Sena model to get?
I went with a schubert C4 with built in sena system, did lose some of the wonder wheel functions(thanks Bmw) wireless remote takes over those functions, radio, phone and intercom work fine

Re: Can't see oil level on glass window
try putting bike on sidestand, if your over full it might now show a level less than full
If your convinced there’s no oil on sight gauge, return bike to center stand and add 1/2 liter then check sight gauge again, keeping adding oil till you see it in window

Re: Programming Key Fob, keyless ride
I solved the bent/broken key issue(really poor design by the way)
Had my dealer order a non chipped key from factory, I use it for seat removal as that’s were most keys get broken. In fact a length of clear tape holds the fob key from opening

Re: Horn operating at just the wrong moment!
Correct me if I’am wrong but can’t you adjust the angle of the switch, possibly rotate downward a bit so horn button clears bag

Re: Agricultural clunk
On my 15 bike, sitting at a stop or light. I often find it smoother when going from neutral to first to first shift up to second then back down, seems to miminize the clunk

Re: Heated Seat
If you have a 17RT, heated seats come standard
Connector should be mounted on bottom of seat, pigtail should be about 12 inches long
As for control, the front seat is controlled by the outboard switch on left handle bar
Toggle down to seat heat, then use wonder wheel to select temperature desired

Re: R1200RT panniers
What year bike and painted or black portion of lid?
If black portion consider bmw’s plastic lid protectors they fit 14 and up
Painted portion as others have said clear film after a good buffing
