Re: Heated seat on an LC RT

I'll give it a try.
Yes I think you're right, heat would dissipate by a combination of convection and also radiation.

Re: Heated seat on an LC RT

I've come to this thread looking for info on the heated seats as mine don't seem to get hot. To be clear though my tests have only been in the garage as I haven't been riding due to the lockdown. I tested with engine running and the battery voltage shows 14.3V and all the bars at full. The rider's s...

Re: My new (to me) R1200RT after having a good clean

Absolutely beautiful!  Is that Callisto Gray Metallic Matte (B64)? ?  Thank you, yes it is. When I was looking for a used RT it was not one of the colours I was looking for but Allan Jefferies called me one day to say they had found a bike to match my specs and when I saw it I fel...

Re: Lockdown

I agree, midnight blue with the silver lowers was the best colour on the hexheads.

Re: Side Stand Switch

Are you sure that's not the centre stand that's hanging low? As you say, the sidestand switch would prevent the engine running.
In in case I'm sure, if it hasn't already been discussed, someone else in the team will straight away spot it and mention it.

No I didn't, they looked really nice. My mistake was to start the engine and then the headers went like that within a few minutes!

Re: Using bike's alarm system to warn of tampering with GPS

After having finished my DIY central locking mod I have decided that my idea of setting off the bike's alarm if somebody tampered with the GPS release button is not necessary. I went for the option where a central locking actuator pushes a small rod into the gap at the top of the cradle rather than ...

Sena 50 series available later this month

Sena have set a release date for the 50 series intercoms as "late April 2020". I will consider one of these as it promises "OK Google" and "Hey Siri" hotwords. Of course this will likely break your R1200RT radio setup because, presumably, you'll need to pair the headset...

Re: My new (to me) R1200RT after having a good clean

Nice. I think the small top box suits the bike. Got one off eBay for my 1250RT and its just right for those bits and bobs on a trip. Yes I agree, it came with a colour coded large top box which I probably will never use so might sell it. I took the small one off my 2005 when I traded it in. I just ...

My new (to me) R1200RT after having a good clean

After spending a fair bit of time, whilst Coronavirus self-isolating, cleaning and polishing my new R1200RT I thought I'd post a picture of it. It's 6 years old but only has 5000 miles on it and all I need to do now is ride the thing but can't!! https://webanditstudio.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/...

Liquid stains behind display screen

Has anyone seen this behind their screen? It is not really a problem since I can hardly see it in normal use but if you catch the light just right it it's obvious. It looks like condensation has formed at some time in the past inside the glass and left marks behind. I must stress it is not this visi...

Re: How to improve bluetooth performance by totally replacing it

No it just the tabs inside the female 3.5 connector have gotten wider over the years. i have tried to bend them in but as they are inside a plastic plug can't ge to them to good. I have tried using different cables with the same results. Can you open up the SM-10? I'd solder in a new female connect...
