Re: 2009 rt1200 smell of fuel while riding
Silly question I know, but was the filler cap closed fully. Shortly after I had my 1200 I had the same problem and discovered that though the cap appeared closed, it was not. Give if a bump with your hand.

Re: Is 95k too many
what classes as excessive mileage is very much a personal thing. Worth however bearing in mind that Cheshire police consider 60,000 miles to be the point at which they pension their motorcycles off!

Re: Brake pedal extension
I found the original on my bike was leaving a silver mark on the toe of my boot. Solution was to sheath it with electrical heat shrink insulation.

Metzler Roadtech 1
Had a pair of Metzler Roadtech 1's fitted this morning on the recommendation of Mark Zamek at Litchfield Tyres. Wow, what a difference to the Avons that came off. Even in the really wet conditions I rode home in the grip is fantastic, role into corners totally predictable and slow riding stable.&...

Blade Motorad Birmingham
Dealership has recently closed. Insider information is that the owner of the sire has applied for planning permission to build retirement appartments on the site.
Have to say from my personal experience of the dealership as Blade and as it was previously Clark's, it will not be missed.

Re: Blown gearbox
So, final update on this thread, I hope. Finally got the old girl back yesterday and though I only managed a few miles, all seems well. The replacement box my mechanic sourced from Austria is smooth and quiet, and the new clutch does the job. Not even going to go into how much it cost, as I have sai...

Re: Blown gearbox
So, apparently my bike was one of a series produced for just 3 months before some substantial changes, thus making sourcing a second hand replacement somewhat difficult. my mechanic eventially tracked down a match in Austria and imported it. The curriers made him literally dismantle it before they w...
