Re: TFT and General stuff on the 21 R1250RT

Can anybody tell me how to change the voice which speaks the "Spoken Instructions"?  I don't really like this stern gentleman and really prefer a nice female voice, but I can't seem to find anywhere in the App to change it?

Re: Seriously considering an R1250 RT.... couple of questions for those in the know

I had a 2019 RT and now have a 2021 As said above you will need a smartphone to use the Nav function of the TFT;  previously you would need a BMW/Garmin Nav 6 or 5 (not sure about 4?) which fitted in a dedicated housing above the dash.  In its current state of development I would s...

BMW Cylinder head protectors for 1250 engine

In excellent condition as shown in the photos.  Slight damage to the rubber seal on one of the fixing bolts as shown in the third photo, which has not affected the sealing properties.

Re: TFT and General stuff on the 21 R1250RT

Interesting - I'm still on my first tank so I haven't seen the light.  But if they can display them then why not all the time?  Bizarre.

Re: TFT and General stuff on the 21 R1250RT

Regarding the "status line", it's interesting that the manual appears to show that you can have both Fuel Tank Level and Range showing at the same time, but it is not actually possible to achieve this in practice  ???

Re: TFT and General stuff on the 21 R1250RT

Thanks for the updates David.  I've ridden 18 miles without connectivity so far, then spent a day (well, it was raining) configuring my connectivity options... What I have learned so far:- Unlike, say, a Nav VI the number of devices which can be paired with the TFT is limited.  I h...

SOLD - Oldtimers Central Locking device for Nav

Apologies if this appears twice but, although I posted it in "Classifieds" it doesn't seem to be in this section of the forum ? Perhaps I have misunderstood how it works... Having moved to a new '21 RT I now have no use for this handy device which I had on my '19 model.Such a...

Re: Topcase lid removal for painting

Thanks - I think I've figured out how to do the lock, it seems pretty simple.  But when negotiating the purchase the dealer just said "have it painted" - he did not offer their facilities  ::) Did either of you use Cotswold or Lovetts by any chance?  Since the sa...

Topcase lid removal for painting

Apologies if there is a thread on this somewhere but my searching efforts have failed to find one. Hoping to take delivery of my new 2021 RT in sexiest blue this week, so I will need to have the carbon black lid of the 49l Touring Topcase from my old(!) 2019 model re-painted.  I've manged t...

Re: TFT and General stuff on the 21 R1250RT

Thanks for the info posted here David (and also on BMW LT, which I hadn't read before posting above). Is it possible to have several helmet pairings in the TFT memory, as is the case with e.g. the Nav VI ?  It would be a pain to have to re-pair every time I wanted to go out with a different...

Re: TFT and General stuff on the 21 R1250RT

I've been watching the BMW instructional videos on you tube and note one of the comments regarding their (BMW) suggestion re transferring routes from Basecamp to the Connected App.  The comment says that Basecamp uses HERE maps whereas the App uses Open Street Map, so it is possible that yo...

Re: TFT and General stuff on the 21 R1250RT

The dedicated phone idea is all well and good unless, as I guess will be the case for most, your "normal" phone is the one on which you will expect to receive any calls. Can you use the app to turn off the yellow engine warning light which will be permanently on after your exhaust flap val...

I'm buying the Sport Style, which comes with a lower screen - but the higher screen is available as a no-cost option at time of purchase  ???

Re: Whats your opinion on the new 2021 RT?

I'll be picking up my new LE in "Sport Style" next week, moving from a 2019 LE. Not having the radio is fine by me - I paid extra for it on the 2019 bike, thinking it would be nice to have that extra cubby hole but not realising how much space the radio would take up under the seat - I'd s...
