New one looks nice, but I'm not sure if change will be worth that. Will wait until you swap it and give some comparison be

Re: What to do, torn into 3 options?

Good value for 2018.
I do not regret not to have radio as I use my helmet Bluetooth headset anyway.
As for topcase, you don't need necessary a BMW one (quite expensive) but you can fit some Givi or similar if you need/ want.

Re: New kid in town and a “big” question

I'm not tall as well. 169cm with quite short legs. I have 1250RT, with both seats, standard and lower one. I can ride on both fully loaded with pillion. Standard one have better comfort in the long runs, lower one allow me to feel more secure in a bit more challenged terrain. By that I mean some mou...

Re: Topbox RT1250 - urgent!

Because in the 1250 and I think also previous 1200 the top box have light inside lid, just for illumination like boot in car.
That's the reason plug will hanging out even if you don't have brake light installed.

Re: Topbox RT1250 - urgent!

Light in the top box is very easy to retrofit. In fact that's the 10 min job really.
I know it because I done that for myself.
Light kit costs around £150, and it's plug and play as the wiring should be already in place in top box like it was in mine.

Re: ### 2020 R1250RT Leaking Front Brakes After Recall Video ###

You're very unlucky with your bike. I'm sorry to hear that, as that probably drag you away from BMW potentially.
I have 2019 R1250RT and nothing wrong wit it. maybe I am lucky with my bike, but so far all good.
This year wasn't great for trips so I have only slightly over 6K on it (miles).

Re: Wales - September 2020

We just came back last Saturday.
2 days in Breckon, then 5 days in Pembrokeshire (St. Davids) then move to another 5 days to Snowdonia.
We saw so many bikes over there.

Re: Rain Gear

Richa Gore-tex laminate jacket and Oxford laminate trousers. They zip together well without re-do zips. So great for me. The one downside for Oxford trousers is that they are quite "baggy", which cause the knee protector moving. Don't like that really. If you can live with this they are fi...

Re: michelin road 50 puncture repair

Those repair kits are only "drive in" to the proper tyre repair place. However I heard that some people just plug it and use bikes like normal. Personally I would not do that. RT is heavy bike, you have only two tyres pumped with a bit of pressure. My new Z8 been punctured last year, bugge...

Top Box brake light it is 10 minutes job. Very easy to retrofit. Actually plug and play really. As all the wiring is already in the OEM top box.

Re: Mixing Tyre Manufactures !!

The only bit why personally I will not mix it up . Apart of really emergency case like tyre is busted and there is no any option available. Is possible different characteristics on wet, and handling in the corners. For me wet handling is important, and as much as all of the companies try the best, t...

Hi. Nippy Normans have the locks on stock. You don't have to order it from OldTimers anymore.
Price sort of the same.

Re: The Nod

As for snob. No I don't think BMW riders are any more or less snobs than anyone else. Let's face it, most Hondas, Yamahas, Suzukis and Kawasaki's are better than BMW's anyway. If ANY of those brands made any touring bike that was comparable or better than the RT, I'd probably be on one. The badge m...
