Re: How is the new RT in hot weather?
To all our hot weather riding friends. Received and installed my Cee Bailey Sport screen the other day. What a difference this screen makes. From the saddle it looks half the size of the original, (original is 24x21, sport is 21x15) but it provides a wonderful pocket of very smooth MOVING air. My ch...

Re: 0-4000rpm PING
I've got 6345 miles on my 16rt. Haven't heard a ping yet. Florida premium is labeled at 93, you California folks must have your reasons for the 91 rating. I have always clutched between 1st & 2nd, but after that its speed shifter both ways. As to low revs in lower gears, I will assume heavy traf...

Re: How is the new RT in hot weather?
Hey Apehair,
I just ordered the new Cee Bailey sport shield for my 16 RT (my kids wanted to know what I want for Fathers day). It should arrive next week. The smaller size (21x15) should flow more air and help with these +90° days. I will let you know.
Till then, stay safe, enjoy the ride. 8)

Re: Helmet storing /carrying
With empty panniers my Shoei Neotec and attached Sena 10U fit comfortably without removing anything. I use the right pannier and the helmet facing forward, as the left pannier is carrying tools and rain gear. When traveling, both panniers carry gear and clothing in inner bags and the left side conte...

Re: Tyres pressure warning
Just a quick look at the location of the valve stem (on the spoke) would have answered your question. You could not put a tube on the rim and be able to inflate it. 8)

Re: GENIE BLINKER
Yes, mine is also a 2016 R1200RTLC. There won't be any canbus issues. The only potential issue come from not using the resistors. You will get a front lamp out indicator on the dash, along with a fast flash. I opened the Skene website on my ipad and saved the install section to ibooks. Tha...

Re: Photon Blaster
If you go to the Skene Design web site. Look at the Photon Blaster section- Installation. Wiring diagram 1B covers what you want to do. http://www.skenedesign.com/lights/PB_Features.shtml You will need to remove the speaker grills and speakers to access the turn signal wiring harn...

Re: GENIE BLINKER
I went the Skene design route, which gave me fender mount conspicuity as well as turn signal running lights,so no I have not installed these. You will have to pull a switched hot wire for each of the modules to give you the running light function, as per the special Honda note on the installation pa...

Re: Motorcycle Helmet Optics and cleaning
If you can find it, try "INVISIBLE GLASS". I have used it with great success on my windshield, headlight lens, helmet shield and internal sun visor.
Have yet to ruin anything. I have always gotten mine from WalMart in the automotive section.
Good luck, 8)

Re: How is the new RT in hot weather?
Just received my monthly Rider Magazine where they did a review of the Cee Baily Sport screen. I agree with the reviewer that the stock windshield will go up higher than I would ever want and yes I would like a bit more air to the chest and shoulders. I just checked their web site and am seriously c...

Re: How is the new RT in hot weather?
In answer to your question; yes it gets a bit hot on hot days. The great environmental protection afforded by the fairing design, can at times be too good. I do not know where you live or ride, I ride for both pleasure and commute here in South Florida. When both the temp and humidity are up in the ...

Re: R1200RT LC Engine and Saddlebag Guards
Take a look at the Krauser bars available from Wunderlich http://www.wunderlichamerica.com/motorcycle/20380101-103.html . Have both engine and bag bars on my 16RT. Just another viable option. Plastic protecting metal just doesn't do it for me.

Re: Handle Bar Risers
Just bit the bullet and ordered the Helibars. Pictures and thoughts to follow. Ordered the version that comes with the removal tool, a $30 premium vs without (cheap insurance against potential mishap). In for a penny, in for a pound!

Re: Handle Bar Risers
Thanks to mercator1 for the Illium Riser descriptive. My major concern is the angle of the outer ends of the grips, as the stock position puts a bit of excessive pressure on my right wrist, resulting in my whole right hand tingling after a short 30 minute commute. And to answer th...
