Re: Wales 3 day mini tour

I hasten to add I can get it lower than 60+mpg but having my passenger on board dictates smoother/slower riding, I still get good economy because you can't accelerate too long cos the speed gathers so quickly then the bike coasts (at 144mpg or so) so very well. We were a bit quicker on the way back ...

Re: Wales 3 day mini tour

No bash plate... Good wash & inspect tonight! I slept so well. Amazing what extended periods of alertness can do for you when you relax. It was a great trip and when you're close to such a "playground" its amazing what you can fit in to just 3 days. The wife was wondering if maybe our ...

Wales 3 day mini tour

Just back from the 3 day mini tour (my wife's birthday treat!) great fun, maps and pics when I'm home on wifi but there was a section with single track, loose gravel/grass on the centre line and hairpins & very steep sections, sheer drops with no barriers... I would like to apologise to the 2 R1...

Re: RTLC Remapped

Cost me more than that getting my hillclimb car rolling roaded but new jets added to the cost it was a pinto on dellortos. Chalk & cheese though 118bhp to a fine 158bhp this was the difference between a ported 160bhp spec engine on recommended jetting and 3d mapped ignition to having it optimise...

Re: Pillion

It's pretty much on my doorstep, I'll post pics of the planned route when at my laptop. Basically day 1: from Cheddar crossing and going up not as far from the Welsh/English border overnight near Snowdonia. Day 2: around Snowdonia national park (80 miles) staying at the same place. Day 3: down west ...

Re: Pannier liners

Got the bags now, wife didn't look impressed when I gave her one and said she had to get everything in it (and that was just for a long weekend! Just as well she isn't getting the invite for next years European trip...)

Re: Pillion

Wouldn't trust her with cleaning it besides I enjoy caressing the bodywork. Got her own kit last weekend and were booked up for a mini tour of Wales next weekend (her birthday treat!)

Re: Slow manoeuvres

I spent ages on the Bandit doing this, I ought to repeat it on the RT... I was also advised when doing the CBT (I was very late to doing the test) to practice emergency stops on a quiet piece of road (weekly) which I used to do on the bandit, saved me a couple of times too! Especially with a bike no...

Re: Pillion

Just back from her second ride, she's loving it! We had a real mix of roads including a short stretch of motorway and up through Cheddar Gorge. She was much better at anticipating the brakes, shifts and acceleration - no helmet pecking at my back.

Re: Tyres - How long do they last?

What tyres are on the Bike & are you replacing with the same. michelin p4 GT replaced with the same. I want to see how these wear because I've never worn a tyre like the one that was on there in the back of my mind I'm suspicious that the dealer took a file to my previous front to claw back som...

Re: RT Tank Bag

Whilst dropping my bike off for its service today I took a look at the tank bag for the 2014 RT. Over £200! I no longer need the space of my (less than a year old Oxford magnetic bag that I took around Europe on the bandit) but its useful to have a little space to hand and more importantly waterproo...
