Re: contamination inside LCD instrument cluster

Wow, yours is really bad! Didn't you try to get it fixed under warranty? On my former R1200RT LC I got a new repair kit screen under warranty https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=0J61-EUR-11-2019-K52-BMW-R_1250_RT_19_0J61,_0J63_&diagId=62_0597 Maybe I try this again but first I want to ...

Re: contamination inside LCD instrument cluster

Well, on my previous R1200RT LC and current R1250RT the instument cluster never touched any water; never rode in the rain nor hosed it down with cleaning water.

I did and do drive quite a lot below 10C however, that's probably the culprit when I read the other threads.......

contamination inside LCD instrument cluster

I have a '20 R1250RT with 7500km on the clock, and last week I noticed a contamination on the inside of the LCD instrument cluster, as if some fluid was dropping down, like something was melting. On my former '18 R1200RT LC I had exactly the same problem at the same spot (see pictures). Anybody had ...

Re: New guy looking at getting first sport touring bike

My 2 cents; I ride a '20 R1250RT. Biggest plus for me is the wind and soundprotection with the Puig screen mounted (OEM screen sucks). Always in the lowest position and looking over the screen. Perfect for me at 1'82m. I ride with a jet helmet, gives me a bit more "freedom"; very quiet and...

Re: SOS icon and amber triangle on

Same here, '20 R1250RT. From the beginning yellow triangle/SOS icon permanently on. 2 Software updates didn't work, but after replacing the SOS module underneath fueltank everything worked again, even after 7000km no yellow triangle/SOS icon light. If you have that SOS icon constantly on it will con...

Why not an overflow hose on the expansion tank?

Why is there not an upper overflow hose on the expansion tank of my '20 R1250RT? Seems strange...

Can somebody check if it's the same situation on your bike  ;) .

Re: Cruise Control at 40km/u in 2nd gear: straight line?

Thanks mate!

For some reason my bike is also more stable in 3rd gear than in 2nd gear at 25/30 mph, I think because the engine makes more revs in 2nd and therefore more "boxer effect" through the entire bike making it a bit more going from left to right.

Re: Handling Issues.

I think my '20 R1250RT handles quite good in the corners for such a heavy bike, also at very low speed, but what I do notice is that it's a bit wobbly in a straight line at about 25 mph. I have to (exaggeratedly spoken  ^-^ ) counterbalance my bodyweight preventing it from going right to le...

No. At 25 mph suspension doesn't do a lot anyway.

Re: Cruise Control at 40km/u in 2nd gear: straight line?

The main difference between the R1200RT LC and the R1250RT is the torque; if you look at the torque-curve of a 1250 you see it has already about 140NM at 5000t/pm and that you feel  ;) . Also the 1200 RT has 3 suspension modes, and the 1250 only 2, road and dynamic, and the road mode is sof...

Re: Cruise Control at 40km/u in 2nd gear: straight line?

It's a very light Street Triple with "normal" front suspension, and not a heavy RT LC with it's Telelever with a ball joint steering; very different. Maybe a camhead reacts different if you put it on cruise control in 2nd gear at 25 mph, and take your hands of the handlebar, due to other ...
