Re: Rear Rack Extender for 2015 R1200RT LC ??
The above is correct, here is a pic of our new bike with the rack, which is huge 8) Casabar, I heard yesterday that our new bikes will be FJRs. I'm an RT fan but the new water-cooled RT-Ps (we've got 5 plus 3 air/oil cooled) have been really unreliable. Major electrical problems with the ...

Re: Rear Rack Extender for 2015 R1200RT LC ??
Just to pick up on the Blood Bike aspect of blood boxes. The 'Freewheelers' in my neck of the woods appear to carry blood in a regulation UN3373 bag which fits in the panniers. They carry other bodily liquids(!) in a padded cool box, which, as you also referred to, straps onto a rack on the back of...

Navigator V auto brightness levels
Does anyone know how to adjust the auto dimming level on the Navigator 5 when it's mounted on the new watercooled RT. My bike automatically dims the sat Nav to 10% in the early evening which is too dark to see clearly. Ideally it needs to be about 30% It's straight forward to manually adjust the bri...

http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160809/68138cd1c296c1ad75a41cd78fb3dd3c.jpg I've had my 2016 RT for about 6 weeks and really like it. I've also got a 2016 GSA but get a lot of buffering from the screen on that bike. Tried lots of things and Chang find the right balance between air into the helmet...

Re: How is the new RT in hot weather?
I've had a chance to ride the RT a little more in hot weather. The wind blast with the stock windshield is adequate to keep my torso cool, but my legs get no air at all, and after a while I can feel the heat build up in my riding pants. I'm going to experiment with removing the plastic pa...

Re: Keyless gas cap won't open and/or close
After 20 months of working properly, the keyless gas cap on my 2015 RT doesn't always open and/or close. It takes several attempts. The local BMW dealer insists I don't know how to operate it properly. Yah, right. If you've had this issue, what fixed it?&...

Re: Quiet helmet recommendations?
I've got a Schuberth C3 Pro and an Arai RX-7v and the Schuberth is significant quieter. Arai has far better venting and visor though but I use the Schuberth pretty much all the time

2013 R1200RT
I'm back on a 2013 RT this weekend for my blood bike charity and three things stand out compared to the new watercooled bikes. The bike has significantly less power, particularly on overtaking, the suspension is very bouncy (however I think the rear sock might be reaching the end of its life), but t...

Re: UK Police new Rts
Erm, that's a new one on me...... Don't believe that my Inspector would be too chuffed if I dropped the bike for that purpose. :not speak: I think it was intended to be in exceptional circumstances rather than the norm [emoji3]. I think I read it in a review when the RT police b...

Re: UK Police new Rts
Only one thing I would add is that BMW should really look at offering slim top loading panniers for the RT which attach to the existing mounts rather than the RTPs which mount onto a steel crash frame. The only reason the RTP has all the crash bars is to allow police riders to drop a bike when a qui...

Re: UK Police new Rts
Great to hear the feedback, particularly as you use the RTPs to their full potential. I ride a watercooled RTP blood bike in Somerset but as you know we don't have most of the exceptions that you have including speed exemptions. I find the RTPs suspension very harsh compared to my own ESA bike which...
