Re: 2015 FINAL DRIVE
From what I can see, the K1600 (K48) & R1200 (K26) pre-LC Models share the same Oil Filter & Part No. 11427673541. The LC RT (K52) Oil Filter Part No. is 11427721779. This thread from BMWSportTouring, http://bmwsporttouring.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=881273&pa...

Re: Final drive service: some rust should I be worried?
Just doing final drive oil for the first time (100k service on my 08 RT) and noticed some rust on the u joint. Perhaps from a slightly deformed boot? Should I apply spline grease to the rusty areas or something else? Is it possible to apply some grease or silicone to the outside of the boot to make...

Re: 2007 vs 2015 RT
I have both. I would not part with either one. Dean, thank you very much for you website very informative. I currently ride my bike 07 1200R w panniers in a very affluent area, Pebble Beach CA. I lane-split a lot due to summer/holiday traffic. This week is the Pebble Beach Concours and I literally ...

Re: Pre or Post '14 RT?
In a nutshell No. The diamond / menu button is to select a favourite menu option which is user selectable. To select a menu item that is highlighted ( boxed ) you use the wheel. Sounds to me a poor dealership that allows a test ride without going through the controls. Maybe a revisit is required. A...

Re: Pre or Post '14 RT?
Well waynoesdias sorry to hear you was not impressed, which I find hard to believe on a good RT. Did you leave your comments with the dealer as the bike may be over due for a service or maybe developed an ailment as we all do. With regards to earlier models I can only comment on K52, give it anothe...

Pre or Post '14 RT?
I currently own a 07 R12R. I'm fortunate enough that I can ride for work and live/work in an amazing area for riding. I love my 07 12R, but the jaunt from Santa Cruz to Monterey is much too blustery for an R. I Attempted to "Tourerize" my roadster w hand guards and aftermarket partial fair...
