Re: It's on it's way

I would disagree with the point about the shaft tunnel breather not being needed. 3 of our civilian R1250RT blood bikes have all had the shafts changed and the tunnel breather fitted. They are bog standard marked up civilian RTs, so if it's necessary on them, then it should be on our own bikes, so s...

Re: Sat-Nav

You can also buy bolts and fit the XT cradle in front of the existing cradle, which is what I did. There is also an aux lead that will allow you to connect the cradle to the same power socket the current Nav cradle draws power from. It is a lot easier to just buy a 3d cradle, but 4 bolts and spacers...

Re: BMW Motorrad dealer Ethics

Think you have summed it up - 72, no riding experience for 40 years, this is all down to you. You can't expect a salesman to tell you what you can and can't ride.

Did you test ride the bike?

My best mate is 74 and still happily rides a 1250RT as does another mate who is 75 and rides a 1250 GSA.

Re: Is Gore-Tex a rip off?

The thing is, on a motorcycle, you are not moving around like you do when walking. So being waterproof or breathable works fine. I have never had an issue with any Gortex kit on a bike. There is an issue if you have gortex gloves in rain and you have your heated grips on, then they do not work very ...

Re: Sat Nav eject button sticking

Been the same since 2014, has never cause any issues on 2 bikes, or 5 fleet bikes. So guess they do the job fine, its not like you take the cowling off every week.

Ride all year around, rain or shine - blood biker. And I wash my bike once a month whether it needs it or not.

Re: Happened again

Known problem, but not on every bike. Mine does the same occasionally, fitted a new battery, but still sometimes it struggles to turn over, it sounds like a flat battery. Bizzarly I always pull the clutch in before starting, old habit from days bike would start in gear. But if this happens I start t...

Re: Sat Nav eject button sticking

Known issue as the weather gets colder, it's only plastic. I used to just spray silicon spray on it, although it would always depress, but not spring back, so just used to us my finger to reset it. But yes you can get to it if you remove the screen and the top cowling

No - the headlight dips down and not to the side like older ones used too

Re: Auxiliary/lights lights

By far the easiest way is to buy a hex ez or cansmart and then wire aux lights to this, such as Denali. You can do a lot more with these modules than just run aux lights. I run an extra set of led rear lights and front aux lights, that you can set to have different brightness for running lights, nig...

Re: BMW ConnectedRide Navigator

I would say, no chance. I have a zumo xt which has a 5.5 screen and that has to sit 40mm further forward and then only just fits in the gap.

But they might make an adaptor like the 3d printed one you can get to make the xt fit the Nav mount of course,

Re: Just bought a Sargent seat but bits missing ?

I bought my seat used with no instructions. I’ll have another look, could be I’ve been using it wrong for the last 3 years, but it’s been ok 👍 Just had a look and my seat is the same, so I have had the rubber bungs fitted when the seat is in the lowest position, I used to ride with it in the high, s...
