Original Conti Road Attack GT's totally shagged out by 6000 miles..
On my second set now, but might try PR4's next.

Re: MPG - at the risk of sounding like an anorak...
Would a remap be any use on a new bike? Absolutely.... Our engines run very lean, to comply with all the various emission laws etc. [size=13px]Without getting too technical.... A lean burning engine will run very hot, causing tolerances to decrease, basically tightening the engine and causing more ...

Re: Conti Tire Recall - check your front Tire
Hi Bertie No, i managed to just squeeze 6000 miles from my rear Conti, but i probably should have changed it 500 miles sooner, as it was badly squared off due to lots of Motorway use. So asking almost 7000 miles from your rear, might be asking too much. However, it all depends how you ride. I tend t...

Re: MPG - at the risk of sounding like an anorak...
At a steady 95mph fully loaded, the bike is telling me i'm getting 48mpg.
The best i've seen when cruising A roads is 55mpg.
Not done enough miles on varied roads yet, to assess how the new remap is effecting economy.

Re: Conti Tire Recall - check your front Tire
The Conti's are great tires.
Even though I had a faulty front tire. It still performed brilliantly during its 8000mile life.
So I'm staying with the Conti's until thus new set are finished, then I might try something else.

Re: RTLC Remapped
That's a huge gain on the bhp & torque, but why is it so expensive to remap a bike? It's never cost me more than £200 to have my cars remapped. Although cost aside, the bike must be rapid with such an increase! Sounds like a good idea for a Christmas present:-) £360 may seem expensive, but it i...

Conti Tire Recall - check your front Tire
BMW did a recall on certain bikes fitted with certain Conti front tires, However, they seem to have forgotten the RTLC's. Now yesterday I happened to notice my front tire blistering and delaminating, so its now in the hands of my local dealer. The RTLC tire effected are certain 120/70ZR17 M/C (58W) ...

Re: RTLC Remapped
the remap costs £360, unless you can agree a special deal. However, I think its the best upgade that you can do. And as a bonus, fuel econemy has also increased slightly, My average was 48mpg on the journy up (mostly fast M/Way for 120miles). Return average was 48.5mpg (with a very strong headwind),...
