Re: Crash bars or head covers?

But I strongly favored the Ilium rear bars for their ease of removal whe...

Re: Crash bars or head covers?
Have a look at Illium rear bars, you can fit with any front bars. They are low so don't impact passengers calves and they are quickly removable if you ever ride without bags. There is a UK distributor. sportouring.co.uk Yes I have seen those I also saw the price! :)) but needs m...

Re: Crash bars or head covers?
Both! Head covers to protect from rocks, crap, etc, thrown up from the road. Engine bars to provide additional protection in the event of a slow speed tip-over. Both it is then :)) Has anyone had any issues with rear bars interfering with pillions feet? I have heard some people mention it...

My 2016 has head covers already but I am wondering if I should fit crash bars instead? do they offer more protection?

Re: FJR1300 V's R1200RT
Welcome! Is that a huge BMW logo on the side of the tank? Is it stuck on? You have just discovered what we BMW riders have known for so long. Namely (and generalising a bit) that the Japanese bikes are all about the magnificent engines viz FJR1300, Kawasaki GTR1400 or supercharged Z1000SX H2, where...

Re: FJR1300 V's R1200RT
Sakm, As for stalling: It takes a bit of getting used to but, as you slow down in traffic or approaching a stop sign, and you get to the point where my old bike would start bucking due to low revs, the computer inhibits the stall, but if you don't downshift or engage t...
