Re: TPMS: Pressure sensor in wheel
I can get a used sensor from eBay, but apparently the sensor battery has limited life anyway, so the replacement might not last long anyway. Thoughts?

TPMS: Pressure sensor in wheel
I have had the rear wheel renovated, due to corrosion, and the company has just told me the tyre pressure sensor snapped during removal. (2015 LC, 32000 miles) :alas: I can get a used sensor from eBay, but apparently the sensor battery has limited life anyway, so the replacement might not last long ...

Re: Fuel Economy 1 and 2
Some people reset Trip 1 when they refill the tank. Eco 1 would then shows the consumption rate for that tankful. Similarly, people often reset Trip 2 at the beginning of a vacation, in which case Eco 2 would show the consumption rate for that vacation. Obviously you can reset Trip 1 and 2 whenever ...

Personally, that would be a little bit out of my way!!! But South, Mid and West Wales are manageable for me.

What travel insurance do you use the covers travel by motorcycle over 125cc? (Many policies cover only up to 125cc so are useless for motorcycle trips.)

Re: Russell vs Sargent - overall comfort, shoulder pain & distance to bars?
Compared with many bikes, the RT has a relatively upright seating position; the standard handlebars are raked back quite a long way and risers might put them closer still. Perhaps the design of your seat puts you further back and/or too low? Purely for an experiment, can you try padding up the the s...

Re: Brits Abroad 2020!
You know what? I was driving down the road (in the UK!) today and that realisation hit me out of the blue!!! Durr! I believe it's the red slash through the town name that indicates 80 kph... or 90 kph... or... https://www.maisonlaudiere.com/s/cc_images/teaserbox_461414.jpg?t=1469655649 Interestingly...

Re: Brits Abroad 2020!
The national speed limit in France is confusing. The French government has since reversed that speed limit reduction, but said it's up to local mayors to decide whether to put it back up to 90 kph or remain at 80 kph. It seems the [EDIT] black red slash road sign has indeterminate meaning...

1. If your helmet and clothing were bought in an EU country and conform to the regulations where bought, you do not need to wear reflective strips. Brittany Ferries (being French) might be a good source of information, https://www.brittany-ferries.co.uk/information/travel-advice/biking/france 2. Pr...

Brits Abroad 2020!
So, during the transition period, British bikers and drivers can use the standard British driving licence (i.e. we don't need an International Driving Permit) and EHIC card in Europe. That's good news! I tend to rely on the AA's* website for information about individual countries, but I have some qu...

Re: GEARS changing loud / clanking on 2014 RT
Obviously, it's difficult to diagnose from a written description! If you are used to super-smooth Suzuki gearbox, then any BMW will seem clunky. Also, I'm not clear whether you have and use gear change assist. In general I have found that the best way to change without gear change assist, is to pull...

Re: Nav v time
This is distinctly odd. A GPS needs a very precise time in order to work out where it is. It detects the time lags from the various satellites to work out how far it is from each one. So even an error of one second would cause a miscalculation of many miles. An error of 19 years would put you way be...

Re: Speeding fines in France
If any UK members here are about to take a trip around Europe, please note that speed cameras are not (normally) painted bright yellow! In fact some are designed to look like roadside objects, such as trash bins.
