Re: new 2017 R1200RT Battery charging

My BMW charger is a permanent fixture at the moment and is performing fine, it's designed to do this. I paid £90 for it and I can't really see the point of saving 20/30 quid to avoid it, unless you already own a different one from another bike.

Re: connection problems with connection between navigator V and Packtalk re MP3 play

What DAB are you using, I tried two types on my previous 1600, both were useless. A Dension and a Pure.

Re: connection problems with connection between navigator V and Packtalk re MP3 play

Only a suggestion, I have a similar setup but my '16 model has audio. If other services are coming over bluetooth ok then maybe try changing the memory card and putting the music on again from source rather than the older memory card.

Re: Front storage containers

They really are small, the nearside one as stated is a good fit for the Nav unit but nothing else. The offside is even smaller maybe stick your garage door opener on the underside of the lid and the push the glovebox knob to open. There is a bit of room to the rear of the pillion seat under the rack...

Re: Police Bike Servicing Standards

They will have been subject to a good oil change, brake pad and disc and fluid regime. All of the necessities. The mechanics who have a large fleet will be aware of potential problems.

Re: Morocco map?

I used open streetmap on a Morocco trip in 2011, it was fine and integrated into the Garmin well. There arn't that many roads in Morocco .

Re: High octane fuel - worth the extra for the LC?

I normally use Tesco 99 octane 'Momentum' but over the last weekend on trip out with 6 others I used BP 97, I thought the bike was smoother on tick over, but it maybe an illusion!

I would think that Garmin would be your only hope, not the sort of thing for a breakers. Their phone help desk in Romsey are very helpful, strangely, for a helpdesk.

I'm sure Wunderlicht do doggie cupholders and little blanking plates for those hard to reach orifices !

Re: iPhone to bike?

Still easier to insert a USB flash drive which will display the file structure , tunes and performers on the dashboard and operate through the wheel.

Re: Easter Weekend in Derbyshire

Don't Derbyshire have a bikesafe setup, this works by getting bikers onside rather than alienating them. they get a day with a couple of police bikers and an assessment ride. We have this down south and it is a great success.
