Re: 24000 Mile Service
Mine's on about 21000 now, so it won't be long. Trouble is we've lost the services of my go-to BMW dealer (CW in Dorchester). Real shame, they have looked after me well* We have Bahnstormer up the road in Alton, but does anyone else know of a specialist in the Southampt...

Droopy at the rear
Afternoon, Noticed something odd on my 2016 LC: It had been up on the bike lift for about three weeks (other stuff intervened) while I fitted the spoils from my latest raid on Nippy Normans. In that time, the rear wheel seemed to have dropped from its usual parked-on-the-centre-s...

Re: Finding excuses for a ride?
As Boris says "common sense". I take that to read be sensible and don't ride like a clown. The distancing thing should be easy and a bit of care at the pump should make things safe. I did try to volunteer with the local bloodbikes but they don't need any more ...

Re: Finding excuses for a ride?
We come out of lock-down too early at our peril I reckon. It has taken long enough to get to a place where, in UK at least, we can see the light at the end of the tunnel so we'd be daft to chuck it away (imho). We got stopped in the car a few days back on the A31 in Dorset.&n...

Re: Heated seat on an LC RT
I've come to this thread looking for info on the heated seats as mine don't seem to get hot. To be clear though my tests have only been in the garage as I haven't been riding due to the lockdown. I tested with engine running and the battery voltage shows 14.3V and all the bars at full. The rider's ...

Re: Denali Sound Bomb
Hi, You don't say where you are, but in UK we have an excellent supplier of all things Denali - Nippy Normans. They supply a bracket which uses the bolts you mention. It is difficult getting much room to work though and I remember having to work the bolts out a flat at a time.&am...

Re: Impersonating a police officer
I used to be a traffic officer both driving cars and riding motorcycles, I retired 3 years ago. I've had instances Where motorists have pulled out when I've been responding to incidents and had blue lights, flashing headlights going. I've had one incident on the M1 when I was doing 120 mph and a ca...

Re: Pannier problem
Mine was awkward too. Turned out to be the little plastic gromet thingy around the mechanism on the bike not being correctly seated. Been fine since.

Re: Another Satnav Lock Option?
Been using the Old Timers version for a while now and it is really good. My problem was I kept dropping the Nav when taking it off the bike. Like Casbar says, I would not leave it on the bike parked in the open overnight, but for daytime use it is brilliant.

Re: Coronavirus
I'm still thinking about riding the bike. Borderline high risk with a minor heart issue a few years ago, but no symptoms of Covid. Assuming you are riding alone there is no real risk of transmission either way that I can see. My strategy would be to take any grub or drinks with me, and use...

Re: Fuel grade
I've noticed that UK pumps have E5 or E10 on the label. I usually stick in 98RON for the first fill if the bike has been stood for a while, then just use standard 95RON. Works fine.

Re: Auxiliary lights
I've been looking at Denali lights. Trouble is their brackets stick the lights up by the mirrors, which I don't like, and I'm too tight to buy the BMW mounts.

Any bike or scooter gets a nod or a wave. I just think making any special rules for this brand or that brand is childish tribalism. Rant over.
