Swapping ZFE and other woes

I have long had an issue with my bike, where the parking lights do not go off ever. It is an issue with the ZFE, the relevant pin is permanently live, and all I can do to stop the battery going flat is pull the plug into the lights under the dash when I park. Not ideal because a) I may forget and co...

Revving to full on start-up...cruise control

So I was doing some stuff under the tank, and I wanted to test what I had done. I dropped the tank back on and connected everything, switched on and started. Imagine my surprise when the engine revved to over 5k...quickly switch off! Try again, same result. Take the tank off, change what I had done,...

What is this connector for?

Hello internet, does anyone know what this connector is for? It is on the left hand side of the bike and there does not appear to be a corresponding connector on the right. It was taped back to the loom and capped, it is a 2 pin connector and it does not appear to go live with the ignition on (not s...

Re: Cover for RT

I had an Oxford Stormex for ages, it was quite good but died after about 10 years. replaced it with...and Oxford Stormex, it was a different shape, different materials and started falling apart after a year. Seam tapes were especially weak. I now have a Wunderlich cover which is excellent, fits over...

Re: Battery replacement OEM or Lithium Ion??

And back to the original post; a question. Why would you want to put an Li-ON battery in an RT? What is the benefit? Sounds like more money than sense to me. And another thing, do Li-ON batteries require different charging electronics?

Has anyone managed to pair a TomTom rider 550 with BMW intercom

Does what it says on the tin. I can't pair my new(to me) Rider 550 with my System 6 helmet intercom. TomTom tech support is next to useless, I wonder if there is anyone out there who has a bit of wisdom. Of course I found this out after I had listed my Nav V on ebay and now it has gone to Latvia.

Re: Help with dreaded fuel gauge issues

It may be that having done the piezo thing the resistance in the sense track is now different, so it may need recalibrating. If you know someone with a GS-911 they can do this for you. You have to remove the strip from the tank and dry it, then plug it back in (but not in the tank, unless you have c...

Re: Front Pegs

I am pretty sure you will find all bikes have springs on their front footpegs, they are there to make sure the peg is down. Without the springs you can accidentally lift the pegs when you are lifting your feet up, which means you end up stamping on the floor. The exception to this is racing pegs, wh...

Front disc rattle

Hello all. I have a 2009 RT with about 34k on the clock. I have noticed that one of the front discs can be moved a bit when you pull on it. I does not move parallel to the axle, but it can be moved radially. The play is less than a millimetre. One side does it and the other one does not. I suspect s...

Re: Headlight bulb replacement on 2015 RT

I fitted them to a 2009RT; I left the light cluster in but removed the plastic around the dash (left the clocks in) dash bezel, made it very easy, (probably completely different on a 2015 bike, but it might be worth looking at.)

Re: Navigator vi

I too have had Tom Toms and more than happy with this Motorrad version of the Garmin. The speed cameras are picked up really well and it bleeps when near them and 3 times if I go over the speed limit. It highlighted some Minor  roadworks for 1.2 miles yesterday and coupled with the integra...
