Approaching my 600 mile break in service, having had several other 1200's in the past, rear wheel always removed to drain final drive I noticed on the 15 what appears to be a drain plug on the bottom and a filler on back side of final drive. I've had a series of BMW bikes, last being a 1600gt, one ride on a 15 RT caused me to trade the 1600
No regrets, if you can afford it buy a loaded bike, esa, nav, radio mine came with keyless jury still out on that

I had it 8 years ago, went through a then new process called partial cyro focal freezing. Cancer free since, PSA runs .75 to 1

I've had reasonable luck, retapping stripped threads
Another option helicoil
Third option is SAE piggyback plug sealed with JBweld
Best option is to remove pan and replace it, or have it drilled and retapped for oversize plug
