Re: Garmin Express - New Map Update

Tried for the 3rd time this morning and it downloaded fine, took 2 hours. If the progress bar does not show anything after a while there may be a problem. That is what happened to me and eventually it shows a "failed error" message albeit after 1 hour. I wondered whether it is just the num...

Re: Garmin Express - New Map Update

Hope you have more luck than me. Firstly it failed to even start the download. Although I had updated Garmin Express last week I found there was another update. Did that and it connected and started the download. It has failed (error message) twice this morning, once after 2 hours and the second att...

Motorcycle Annual Travel Insurance

Hi - My Wife and I have been travelling in Europe for many years and have used different companies for Travel / Medical cover over that time. Last year we used Aviva annual cover. Does anyone have any recommendations from past experience, we have been quoted £56.16 for Annual cover from BMW. We have...

Re: Accommodation in Germany

OK done. The start of the route through Holland follows the Dykes and Windmills, you can always bypass it. I tend to include options for lunch and coffee and take the back roads when I can. The scenery and roads on route 2 are brilliant. As you notice from the file (.gbd) they have been done in Maps...

Re: Accommodation in Germany

We can recommend the Altstadt Hotel Zum Hechten in Fussen, a family run hotel in the middle of town. There is a closed parking area at the rear with an overhang they let you park your bike under. Rothenburg, the Hotels within the town walls can be expensive but there are some just outside. Its worth...

Re: What have you got planned for 2015?

We, that is my wife and I often ride into Wales as we live just outside Stoke. Often have lunch at the Royal Oak in Betws-y-Coed then loop round thro Snowdonia via Beddgelert then across to Bala to get the mountain road (B4391) back to Shrewsbury and then home. Always try to ride the B roads and try...

What have you got planned for 2015?

Well it's snowing outside and it doesn't look like we will be riding any great distance for a while yet, but at least we can dream and plan. Does anyone have any trips planned?

Thanks for the info RTman, looking at the snow falling outside at the moment it may have to be an option.

Re: Weather protection

Dealer rang me today to say all my weather protection panels and fittings have arrived. I ordered them 6 days ago. Just got to find time for the 120 mile round trip to Rotherham to pick them up.

Re: Weather protection

I took these photos at the BMW weekend in Garmisch last year. You will notice it has the panels on. It is the same bike, it was kitted out one side for Police and the right hand side for Doctor

Pleased to help. I should be getting commission from Halfords, I bet they are wondering why sales have suddenly gone up.

Re: Testing 1 2 3

Good to hear you got the protectors, they could have been made for the job! I am pleased you can confirm they are in the right place as the only way I could estimate where to put them was to place a straight edge from the side of the tyre up against the pannier side. Whist in Halfords I found some r...

Re: Testing 1 2 3

Hi Steinar - sorry for all the work this has caused, but I have followed your instruction to post the same photo I sent you and it still goes to page not found. I even tried to post it from a friends laptop I have and it did the same thing. My isp is TalkTalk and my current speed is 4MB. The picture...
