Re: When's the summer going to arrive?

Well weather here in the Charente region of France is glorious Off Thread: as I said I had the above op and that has stopped me riding since May 6 and not back on until next week. Not wanting to go into the op in any detail, but if there is anyone who has concerns about general health, anti op, pos...

Re: When's the summer going to arrive?

Well I've had the past 2 weeks off work and it's rained for 12 of the 14 days! Haven't had the bike out once!! This much be the wettest June ever. Seriously thinking of selling my bikes & getting a jet ski- It would be more suited to commuting  to work

Re: Clothing preferences

I thought I'd try some new summer boots- something I could wear for work without having to change.  I ended up buying a pair of Forma Mito boots. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Forma-Mito-Boots-Urban-Scooter-Motorcycle-Leather-Ankle-Boots-/251893761614?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&var=&hash=item3...

Re: Thank you

It seems a lot of Members on this forum have swapped their K16's for an LC, and seem much happier with the LC. Ive never got round to owning K16 but have seriously thought about  getting one on several occasions. What is it that had swayed you from a K16 to an RTLC?  Is it weight, ...

Re: Thank you

I had a 55 plate years ago- sold it when it got to 16k on the clock. My wife has a Subaru turbo 4x4 & my son had a chipped Cooper S. from a standing start both frequently (and much to my annoyance:-) left me in their wake for the the first 200 yards or so. It was a lovely bike but  the ...

Re: Thank you

Going for a twin cam over the earlier model is one decision that you won't regret. I found the TC much much better, well worth paying the extra. (And you won't get out accelerated by mini coopers, Subaru's & M3's!)

Re: RTLC Remapped

LC riders returning to air cooled RT's?! Can't for the life of me see why. I'm a big fan of the air cooled twin cams but having ridden one back to back with my LC I would seriously miss the power & sheer refinement of the LC. I would however enjoy the better wind protection on the older RT!

Re: Painting an R1200 RT another color

A point to note, as with cars, bikes can also be very colour sensitive. By that I mean some cars & bikes look great in a particular colour, but others don't quite look right. Size; is there simply too much mass? contours; how will the light reflect off the shapes/curves? contrast; how will this ...

Re: Hill Assist

It's only a matter of time before all big bikes have hill assist. Look at how many cars now have this along with the totally unnecessary electronic handbrake. Speaking of unnecessary gadgets... Re: Painting an R1200 RT another color

Hi Diego, I spent several years as a BMW refinisher & technicical instructor so I know my way round a body shop. The panels will come off the bike easily in an hour or two. No special skills required here. Because the panels have already been painted, the paints will already have had the essenti...

Re: Givi Top Box

I know the Givi boxes are cheaper but you didn't compromise when you bought the bike. After all for the cost of the RT you could have got a yang yin yong with all the luggage for half that... What I can say is all of my riding buds with spurious top boxes all experience high speed stability issues. ...
