Just rode about 100 miles with them today. I think they made a significant difference. I'm quite pleased with them.

Re: General RPM range riding and red line - power band?

I have a '16 RT. I tend to cruise at a little higher rpm. 4-4.5k. I like the responsiveness I get if I need to accelerate quickly. So I'm probably running 1 gear lower than you. My dealer told me not to be bashful as the bike likes the higher rpm. So do I!

Re: New BMW Owner - Concord, NC

I found that my RT's suspension settled a bit after it got some miles on it. I originally had the low seat on low position and after some miles I was able to move the seat to high position. Can't remember how many miles but others have reported similar results.

Re: Unusual Tyre wear?

Keep close tabs on the Z8 rear. They will suddenly wear through to the cords.

Re: Pins and needles sensation,

These bar risers raise the bars 41mm up and back. They helped me a great deal. I'm not sure where you live but they are US based. It's a good idea to rent the removal tools that they offer. With it, it's quite easy to install yourself. I had similar problems while riding bicycles and found my probl...

Re: Tinnitus and Touring

I have used this for 13 years now. https://www.earplugstore.com/custom-musicians-earplugs.html You can hear music at much lower levels.  Wind noise is gone.  Sena is clear.  Still hear surrounding outside sounds.  Just cant say enough. Do you use the added earpho...

Re: Wunderlich elephant tank bag

Have you considered the SW-MOTECH brand of bag? They feature a quick disconnect system that bolts to your fuel filler door frame. Works great. Pull the cord and off it comes. Easily snaps into position. Fits the RT very well. I have the Daypac model which is pretty large but not as large as the Wund...

Re: New 2016 RT- late clutch engagement

There is an adjustment wheel right on the clutch lever. "Position 1: smallest distance between handlebar grip and clutch lever."
Hopefully I'm not stating the obvious to you.

Re: Clearwater Erica lights on a 2015 R1200RT

Which mounting bracket did you use?  I just put some Ericas on using the BMW foglight brackets.  The wiring is  a bit of a hassle, but I put the relay up in the "birds nest", which is at the top of the fork and just under the BMW logo on the steering column.&...

Re: My Friday project.

Just wondered as it is so much easier to attach to the auxiliary positive post. I used this for the Clearwater relay and a Nautilus horn relay, in addition to a separate 12v power source for an air-compressor etc. I just recently added a FirstGear heater controller and both the instructions and my ...

Re: My Friday project.

Why did you remove the battery? The relay connects to the battery. You must remove the battery to get to the positive post on the battery. I suppose you could connect the positive lead to the external post but I chose to go directly to the battery. It's not that big a deal to remove the battery onc...

Re: My Friday project.

I just installed a set of Darlas on my RT yesterday. I mounted them on my crashbar. Haven't been able to try them because it is 17 dgrees F (-8 C). I hope l don't regret not spending the extra for the Ericas. I bought them mostly for conspicuity as I try to avoid driving at night. Too many deers aro...

The first thing the dealer did was replace the left switch but the problem continued.
