Re: After one extreme hard breaking breaks become dangerously soft
Sounds like the brake fluid has been boiled. Once the brakes & fluid have cooled down, normal service may return. Having boiled the brakes, it would be good practice to change the brake fluid. Was the brake fluid changed at year one, then every two years after that. I know someone who prepares ...

Same for me :-) PeterTalisker wrote: I have not heard any eccentric / unexplained, pops or bangs from my 1250. It has, thus far, behaved in a very civilised manner regardless of manual or quickshifter gear changes.

I've swapped the bulbs once on my RT, I think next time I'll be asking my Daughter to swap the actual bulb with her more dainty hands!!!

Re: Has anyone managed to pair a TomTom rider 550 with BMW intercom
I have not had a TomTom but what I can say is the BMW intercom systems are incredibly fussy for a Bluetooth device! To get it to connect to my Nav V & VI devices in the past I had to try many many times, up to 40-50 attempts sometimes. Worth trying these things: making sure i...

Re: Aarrgh, not another burned out headlight
I've not done 49K on my bike:-( but on my K1300S I used night breaker +150 (whatever they are called:-)) and would get one go every 10-15k I think just due to the vibration - not so bad really... The good thing on the K1300S is if the dip beam went you could swap one of the two high beam b...

Re: Poll of Tyre Options - R 1200 RT, K26 (2012)
Hopefully, this will minimise the risk of being caught out with the centre of the tyre breaking up & showing threads whilst the rest of the tyre still looks good. No:-) I had Z8s on my K1600GT all wear indicators good and all of a sudden canvas/steel showing on centre of tyre, current RT has th...

I don't have the problem but do have friends that do! I thought you got new software on the device too? Either way I see Garmin Express 6.19.4.0 has been released today so might be worth a re-try! Hope that helps, Peter

Re: BMW System 7 Carbon & BT
I have that set up, the helmets fit my wife and I very well and the intercom between helmets and RT/sound/Navi have good functionality - I think BMW are one of the quietest helmets out there in terms of DB rating - at least they always have been with the previous models I owned. As said ab...

I think with the subscription you get updates to where cameras are as and when they are added/moved and of course in Europe which is where I use it most. Peter

Nav VI working intermittently with Garmin Safety Cameras?
Hi, just wondered if I am alone in this:-). I've owned BMW Navigator IV, V and now a VI. I update my Speed Camera subscriptions when I go touring which I did as usual this Spring. When on tour I realised the Belgium/Luxembourg were not working/installed, got back compla...

Re: 1250 Fuel consumption
R1200RT covered 15,000 miles over 3 years and I got just under 52mpg and on the R1250RT covered 3,000 miles and got just over 53mpg... So pretty much seems the same for me! Range to reserve is normally 250 miles and close to 300 before dry! Peter
