Final Drive Oil Change

Hi my 2009 RT with 56k miles is telling me that a service is due. When I rang my local dealer he said that an oil change on the Final Drive is due. Haynes Manual says that this is at owners discretion. There is no leak, strange noise, etc. Is he being too generous (with my money)?

Re: Newbie questions

Hi J. what you read from me will not answer any of your 5 questions! However, I was 'that' close to buying 'your bike' and likewise it's been 40 years since I last had a bike at college. I am now the proud owner of a 'standard' 2009 RT (with high mileage) and my one bit of advice to you is to go get...

Re: Foot brake lever issue

STG£29 later (free postage) Wunderlich brake pedal Enlarger received and fitted, job done! See photo. While there is a locking screw fitted a touch of super glue is a good idea so that it doesn't fall off (to be sure, to be sure). Have yet to try it out on the road.

Re: Foot brake lever issue

Hi K9doc very impressed with your innovation. I'm not sure I would have the confidence to make and fit something like that on my brake lever. Stay safe out there.

Re: Foot brake lever issue

Thanks for the response and Hi Simbo do you mind putting that link back up again as when I try to follow it I get an Error 404.

Foot brake lever issue

Hi when I put my foot on the brake lever of my (recently purchased/rarely ridden) 2009 R1200RT I find I step on the 'triangle' above the lever/pedal (see photo) then as I apply more pressure my foot slips down onto the lever. Bit off putting until I realised what was going on. I note new RTs do not ...

Metal Fatigue - OMG!

Hi, Well maybe not exactly metal fatigue but my 2009 R1200RT is showing its age with the smooth metal coating coming away from the frame between the front and rear foot pegs. See photo [attachimg=1]. Can this be repaired?

Hi a special thanks to beemerboy9 and Maz12. I have spent weeks trawling the internet trying to get a reasonable solution to the GPS issue but thanks to you guys, and this Forum, the answer is right there. Now who said "men won't ask for directions ..." ...

Re: GPS for a 2009 bmw R1200RT - recommendation

Many thanks for the advice! At last I can limit my research to the Garmin Zumo 395 LM. You are right about my newness to motorcycles as it is circa 40 years since I sold my Yamaha 350 RD before investing in the 2009 R1200RT in July of this year. One more question, please, do you have a trade name/mo...

GPS for a 2009 bmw R1200RT - recommendation

Hi my 1st post. Can anyone recommend a Garmin GPS for my 2009 BMW R1200RT. The NavV is too expensive and as I cannot use all the functions therefore I was thinking more of a Garmin Zumo 660 or 345. Any suggestions please?
