OK, Will do, in the meantime it's interesting to note that they only required 10 grams rear and 5 grams front to balance. Oh, and they do look nice ! !.

Re: Laying Up/Winter Storage

Just opened the back garage door to put the batteries on charge and both my bikes are covered in condensation. Never seen it like this before, must be the rapid rise in ambient temperature overnight. Think I'll go and get the blow (pet) dryer out. Shows the value of applying some corrosion protecti...

Re: Camhead - Gear Linkage Lubrication

Some of our more established members may recall that I have been advocating an annual "Service" of the Gear Linkage for years now with absolutely no interest shown. This latest discussion is welcome and indeed seems to be generating a healthy interest. With regard to the application of Gre...

Re: Best years to buy r1200rt

Have to agree, i have owned two 2007 bikes. The first 07 which i bought new. This one was sadly stolen when 8 months old. My latest 07 RT hasn't let me down and self-servicing is a doddle. Yesterday whilst my bike was in for the annual MOT, the dealer had a 2013 RT for sale. Apart from the said for...

Re: Anyone with Kenda KM1 tires

Like to see some real world testing on these. So would I Doc, trouble is that, generally speaking every time a "New" tyre from a premium brand is released on the market the Manufacturer pays for a plane load of Bike Journos to be whisked away to some warm sunny location such as the South ...

Re: 2011 Camhead - clunky gear changes

Personally I have never had a Japanese bike that "Did Not" clunk when selecting 1st from neutral. In fact to call the noise a "Clunk" is being kind more like an almighty crash. My Fireblade was so loud that passers by where startled. My recent Triumph Sprint 1050 GT was no better...

Avon Tyres to Close

Sad to hear that the iconic British Tyre manufacturer Avon are to cease all production at the end of 2023. Apparently profits have been in a steady decline. Profits of over £4 million in 1993 dwindled down to less than £7000 in 2020 which is unsustainable. I can recall using Avon Tyres at the start ...

The Gerbil voices are probably from "speeding up" the video. After watching this a couple of times I chucked my Torque Wrenches in the Bin !!.

Engine Paint

One of my winter maintenance jobs is to tidy up the lower Crankcase areas where Road Muck and Stone Chips has degraded the finish. Appreciate it if anyone can recommend a suitable paint, preferably in Spray Can format. The original paint would appear to be of a "Satin" type finish. There a...

Re: How to unstick "frozen" rear brake on 2011 R1200RT?

Very easy job to remove the Caliper and free off the pistons. A combination of thumb pressure to push them inwards or a G Type clamp if they are really tight should work. Normal break lever pressure should then be enough to push them outwards then the piston surfaces can be carefully cleaned. Keep a...

Re: Back from France

Thanks for the info Dr. T. The area of Provence you stayed in would be new to me although we have stayed in Antibes a few years ago. About 20 years ago we discovered The Drome, an area roughly East of Montelimar and North of Mount Ventoux (The Old Man of Provence). We went on to stay with an English...
