You will be far better off keeping the original screen for refitting to to the bike when you decide to change it in the future. You can then either fit the V Stream to your replacement bike, if it’s the same model of course, or easily sell it.

Re: Back from France

It would be investing to hear where abouts in Provence you stayed. That part of France has been our regular Bolt Hole for a number of years now. We stayed in The Drome area around Nyons, great food and wine and a lot cheaper than down on the coast. Happy days in La Belle France.

Re: Touring France - Card or cash?

Yes. I would say that you have summed it up pretty accurately and that what you have found in previous trips will still apply. The French are very traditional. Many times we have waited patiently in the supermarket queue whilst the lady in front carefully writes out her cheque. (Remember those !!). ...

Re: Puff of Smoke

It's disappointing to hear that BMW Assist are still in the habit of sending out inexperienced and unsuitable recovery firms. Looking at the picture and reading what the poor guy said is very similar to our own experience which happened quite some time ago with our Hexhead. This was during the dread...

Twist Protection Blocks (What are these for ?)

During a recent Valve check on my 2011 Twin Cam I noticed that when removing the Nearside Valve Cover a Rubber "Block" had become dislodged and dropped to the ground. Checking the opposite side Cylinder I could verify the position where the "displaced" block should fit and this w...

Re: Wunderlich. Where are their parts made?

That’s nice to know. A while back I ordered a Screen for a Triumph Sprint GT from Australia and the “Extra” charges which had to be paid to Royal Mail before delivery would be made where substantial.

Re: Wunderlich. Where are their parts made?

It would be interesting to hear what "extra" charges are levied on delivery of goods from China such as Customs Duty and VAT.

Re: Twin Can 2010 through 2013 owners manual needed

Rider's (Owners) Manuals can be purchased from your local friendly BMW dealer for around £30. Give them the VIN to make sure you get the correct one. Good advice concerning the VIN Number. I ordered mine from my Dealer and they mistakenly supplied (and subsequently replaced) me with the one for Spe...

Re: Insurance

Renewed my RT Insurance a couple of weeks ago, once again with “BeMoto”. Fully Comp, Full RAC Breakdown and Recovery in the UK and Europe, Legal Expenses, Helmet and Leathers and Personal Accident Cover. £196. It’s really pointless trying to compare different Rider’s premiums as there are so many va...

Re: Torque Wrench

Nice to see that this "Dark Subject" is at last generating some interest. I have tried to raise interest and comments in the past but without response, so thanks chaps. If we use the RT Rear Wheel Bolts as an example there are two locations where "Friction" will be a factor. Firs...

Re: Torque Wrench

A few years ago a Professional Bolt Tensioning and Torqueing Technician gave me some good advice about Torque Wrench usage. One of the main points he warned me about was applying a given Torque value without checking if this value should be applied to Dry, Oiled, Greased, etc, threads. For example, ...
