Re: I improved the handling by loads today!

Me, I check tread depth, oil level, fuel and if the pillion is still there, but from now on, i'll check for tyre pressure too.

Re: Numb butt

Instead of altering the bike, amend your clothing. Got to be cheaper, padded leather trousers?

Re: How many of you own a second bike?

Getting on a bit, so I've reduced my bikes by consolidating the HD Dyna & R1100R into a new to me RT. That just leaves the retirement '74 Bonneville to strip and reassemble.

Skipping

OK, been here a week, so time for the full forum membership to give me their wonderful insight and knowledge! Noticed that the tyre pressures were at full luggage and 2 up settings. So lowered tyre pressure to 2.2 & 2.5, however, it still feels like its skipping laterally in the lane when above ...

Re: Prospective '12 RT owner

I'm the same inside leg at 29"  I found that a standard RT is still too tall in the lowest saddle setting for me. Therefore I searched for a factory low seat option. Only got it recently but well worth the wait to get both feet on terra firma.

Ah yes, it was a great day...... apart from the fact everyone else with transport was out there as well!! With regards to the shower, it's cool and has the added benefit of washing the gear down as well  :)

Re: Hello from W Yorks

Picked her up today, not the most comfortable temperature to learn a new bike, however, nice 100 mile ride back home. Put her in the garage and then went for a long cool shower, (I always wear protective gear). Have a look over all bits and bobs tomorrow but have noticed a few things. Adjustable scr...

Re: Heavier Bar End Grip Weights

Amongst quite a few bikes I've ridden, I once had a Honda Deauville. Nice little bike but very buzzy. One thing on the riders forum about numb hands on long rides was to fill the handlebars with 'lead shot'. It was claimed it worked better than bar ends as it absorbed the vibes and certain bar ends ...

Hello from W Yorks

greetings to all. Not really a newbie to beemers after having owned an R80RT and just about to p/x my R1100R for a 09 silver RT.
Doesn't have all the 'extra's', but for me, being somewhat short, a factory low one piece seat.
Hopefully pick it up this Saturday.
