Re: OCD cleaning...!

So tonight, the cleaning continued with the sump, timing cover and final drive. Once cleaned, I'm coating these parts with ACF 50. I use it on all my bikes as it's an excellent corrosion inhibitor. http://i921.photobucket.com/albums/ad54/sullivj/74E8A8A3-34B1-4C6A-AF6B-29C0797909A4_zpsd4hcvvfa.jpg R...

Timing Cover, Cover. Is it removeable?

Can the black plastic cover on the front of the engine be removed with the exhaust in situ?  It looks like it's only 2 bolts to remove it?

Re: OCD cleaning...!

I took the end can off, but the rest was done in situ, laying on the garage floor.  I'm pleased how well it came up though. I'm trying to do the difficult cleaning jobs first... It's the sump next :-(

OCD cleaning...!

So now the bike is home, I've started on the cleaning regime.. Today's job was to clean the rest of the exhaust and stands. That's one more job ticked off the list! Re: Brake fluid leak!!

Autosol and a micro fibre cloth. Then a wipe over with ACF50 before putting it back on.

Brake fluid leak!!

In their wisdom, the dealer who sold me the bike yesterday, overfilled the front resovior. When they put the lid back on, it squeezed some fluid out if the resovoir! So today's job was to syringe some fluid out, and properly clean up the area. I didn't fancy a ride in the rain, so instead I removed ...

Re: I bought it, I bought it!!!!

Thanks for your comments and advice guys. I did 422 miles in the car today, so I could have a good look and put down a deposit. She needs a good clean, but I'm looking forward to bringing her home at the weekend. She's done just 3,900 miles, with full BMW history. Looking forward to getting to know ...

I bought it, I bought it!!!!

Hi guys. I've been riding for a while. I have a CBF 600, CB500 and a 1957 Ambassador Supreme. I've loved the look of the RT for a while, and after a lot of virtual shopping, I think I've found the one I want... Ideally, I would have liked audio, but you can't have everything I suppose! The bike is a...
