Denali Soundbomb

I had to go back through some of your older posts to figure out you have a 2010 RT... If the bike is stock you should have one horn. The R1200RT originally started out I believe with two horns, and even though they deleted one sometime during the hexhead series the two-horn wiring harness remained t...

Re: CanSmart or Relay

The hardware is marketed under two names, Hex ezCan and Denali Camsmart (that Hex makes for them...).

The Denali may have some modified features, but the original Hex unit is just fine for my RT. And GTL.

Rear PowerSocket

There is a power socket nestled under the rear seat for the pillion. Can anyone inform me as to what current it draws please? (the manual is silent). My wife has a pair of heated Gerbing  gloves and a heated Gilet (SHMBO likes to be warm). We have failed to get these to work so I am guessi...

Aux Lights and rear red bullets fitted

Not sure where I could attach these on my RT. Use the Denali RT light mounts: https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190608/97dbc27b78d55d839822c26749127f50.jpg https://www.twistedthrottle.com/twistedthrottle-auxiliary-light-mounting-kit-for-bmw-r1200rt-05?gloc=1&gclid=CIqT78bj2OICFQa97AodCygP3A I ...

CanSmart or Relay

You can always add relays and fire the coils off of the appropriate circuits...BUT... 1. You need good wiring diagrams to locate the correct circuits. 2. Install an accessory fuse panel (i.e. Fuzeblock) triggered by the aux circuit to cut power when you turn off the bike. 3. Proper small weatherproo...

Re: Fitting headlamp bulbs

15,500 mi so right on cue, my 14 low beam went out. Not sure where, but somewhere I read a suggestion to use a narrow dowel 2 feet long to release those tangs. Worked like a charm. Using a light, I could see the whole setup looking under the handlebar. I slid the dowel in along the left side gas ta...

iPhone iOS update today to 10.3

Anytime you do a software update make sure you FIRST back the device up to iCloud (or iTunes...I use iCloud). It will take a bit of time (in some cases the better part of the day) on a major update for all your documents (i.e. PDF files), apps and email to fully re-appear (I have 5 email accounts s...

Re: iPhone iOS update today to 10.3

Gee...I didn't know an iPhone had a hard drive lol... Hopefully 10.3 will fix reported problems like touch ID going wonky, BT/Wifi performance problems, etc. that appeared for some folks with 10.2.x. It was so bad on my iPad Air 2 I downloaded 10.3 public beta and it fixed those things, so maybe the...

Re: I.C.E. Details

Thanks to the OP... didn't know these existed. I'm an electrical engineer, and bought some of these for all my guys hardhats. I also put some on my wife's helmet and my helmet for motorcycling. The vendor makes them not only for hardhats, but kits for motorcycles which includes a wallet card. The on...

Yup...hair dryer or heat gun (on LOWEST setting, used carefully)...plus I use dental floss, working it back and forth under the plate like a rope saw.

Same technique works for removing BMW roundels...

Re: Air Vests

It takes approximately 66 pounds of force to trigger the Hit Air...never had a problem with inadvertent deployment. Yes, you need a lanyard to attach to each bike...but they are inexpensive. I also bought the small 'holder' lanyards for the back seat position to keep the passenger cord from whipping...
