Re: New member and getting back into riding
Hello folks, looking to get back into riding after a few years away from it. I have had my eye on an RT for years but always thought it was a grown up bike, now time has moved on and I think its time. I am based in the west of Scotland with some great roads around me, new member too, cheers Paul We...

Re: To Install Crash Bars or Not?
I chose silver Wunderlich bars for my Alpine White RT. Ilium are expensive here in the UK. They provide much more protection than cylinder head guards.

Re: Radio cut in and out
I wonder if the radio has been changed and the fading in and out is part of component protection. The radio might need recoding to the bike at a BMW dealer. I would ask the question re: Pandora and USB on the bmwsporttouring website. A company called Crutchfield suppled 3.5mm stereo sockets that wou...

Re: Non esa to esa conversion
I have 2006 r1200rt non esa with super saggy shocks. Would it be difficult to purchase used esa and install or is there other equipment needed? Thanks for the input. Wilbers did an ESA conversion for GS's of that era. I would definitely not bother with ESA. Just get a decent new or refurb...

Re: 2005 1200RT colour codes: wheels, food peg plate, final drive (all greys)
Hi all, does anyone have a tip where to retrieve colour codes for non-fairing parts? It's a 2005 RT. The colour scheme is 911 (red) – that much I have figured. That doesn't help because I want to touch up paint at the wheels, food peg holder, frame and final drive. Any suggestions welcome ...

Teapot because there’s nothing quite like a nice cup of tea. Yorkshire tea is very nice. Born in London but now living in Reading Berkshire. I would like to meet a fellow RT rider who is more familiar with the RT Welcome, Teapot98. Do ask away with questions. I live in North London, so not exactly ...

Re: 21 R1250RT insurance question
I live in London where the insurance premiums are horrendous. I reckon to get about a 35% reduction in premium on both bike and car via the IAM's preferred insurers.Arek wrote: How much real world insurance reduction I can expect if I'll join and do IAM certificate?

Thanks I just can't wait now :) ) Welcome! Is that a huge BMW logo on the side of the tank? Is it stuck on? You have just discovered what we BMW riders have known for so long. Namely (and generalising a bit) that the Japanese bikes are all about the magnificent engines viz FJR1300, Kawasa...

Re: Can you order a previous year RT model?
I have not yet talked to a dealer. https://configurator.bmwmotorcycles.com Thanks for the link to the USA website. The 2020 model does not feature on our UK website (or the German website). You might well be able to find a 2020 model from unsold stock in the USA - ask your dealer to search. The Ber...
