Re: Buying advice/opinions

Hi GREATSCOT, Talisker from Inverurie here. I did not spec the stereo on the 2020 RT I bought last year, I didn't use the ones I had on my last 2 bikes.  So I decided not to bother. As the guys have stated above there are good alternatives to the inbuilt system via Bluetooth tech. Hi Casbar...

Re: Keiss Heated Jacket

Hi Gav, I connected directly to the battery and ran the fused lead under the seats across the bike and out next to the front seat release lock on the left side of the seat.  Very easy once you have both seats off.  Be very careful removing the heated seat cables connections, the lo...

Airman tour air compressor

Looking for a spot of help here please folks, electrical expertise to be precise.  I have a new Airman tour air compressor.  It is supplied (UK spec) with a male cigarette lighter power connection.  I don't want to fit a female ciggy lighter connector to my bike. ...

Re: After one extreme hard breaking breaks become dangerously soft

If there are no brake fluid leaks the boiled fluid would be the most obvious answer.  And I agree change it ASAP.

More importantly, clever technical stuff aside, did you beat the V Max?

Re: Question on the 1250engine for 2020 owners

I have not heard any eccentric / unexplained, pops or bangs from my 1250.  It has, thus far, behaved in a very civilised manner regardless of manual or quickshifter gear changes.

Re: Motorcycle Tour Operators or DIY

We (my wife and I) used an MTO for route 66 a good few years ago, they were good and gave us the confidence to go it alone. Ever since then we've done DIY.  Booking accommodation and GPS are easier and better these days.  We also prefer our own agenda, infinitely preferable to wait...

Re: Paint protection film

Looks like a good recommendation from Bandytales.  Tankslapperz do the pieces you are after Mike.  I take it they will supply to a UK address?  If you use them don't forget you will need to pay import duty.

Re: Paint protection film

Hi Mike, I wrapped my 1250 two weeks ago using an kit from paintguard UK.  The kit comprised of all pieces apart from the ones you describe.  I sent a reversible paper pattern to Steve at paintguard who made LHS and RHS pieces to fit.  You could make your own pattern, or i...

Chipguard paint protection - good service

Got a 3M film paintguard kit from Chipguard UK.  The kit (£160) is a good fit but requires patience to fit.  :eggs: Not included in the standard kit are the 2 pieces for the lower tank panels (where my knees rub the paint). I made a paper pattern and sent it to Steve at chipguard.&...

Spurious SOS warning

During my last 2 rides the SOS warning has appeared on the dash and disappeared again within a minute or so.  On both occasions I was riding and did not stop to reset the ignition.  I have received no phone calls from BMW emergency services, I have not dropped the bike or used emer...
